Getting ready to install the ALP in new cars I have and need feedback on Tx head location

2013 GT500 will place regular heads in yellow and Tx in green. Can the Tx head be recessed a bit on bumper by where the blue pain meets the black grill trim or does it have to be flush with bumper or stick out as on top of license plate frame.

2020 Denali similar Tx placement question as it would be a bid recessed were paint meets chrome grill. Also wonder if I should put a black grill instead of chrome.

Both VERY nice rides!

I think you're certainly in the right area on the Mustang, and would suggest the Tx be mounted higher on the Denali. Have a cruise through the SHOW OFF YOUR INSTALL forum as there are a few mustangs in there as well as GMC pickups with similar grills.

Regarding recessing your Tx head slightly, I think most will tell you not to, citing reflection problems. ON MY INSTALL both the front and the rear Rx and Tx heads are recessed and I've tested JTG/JFG against DragonEye so it's not hurting me in my particular circumstance. I've also noticed concealed installs where the heads are recessed behind IR acrylic that tested well, so there is some room to play IMHO. You have lots of chrome on the Denali though, so that MIGHT create an issue.

Be sure to share some pics once the installs are done so we all get to learn from each other. BTW, if you weren't aware, the highlighted text are links that you can click on.

It might be worth pointing out that at the South Florida Winter Lidar Meet, a Suburban was there that showed significant weakness against DE with 1 Tx, but having 2 Tx helped iron out the long distance PTs. I'm personally not well versed enough on that install, but it might be a good data point for your Denali since it's a similar vehicle.

Mustang seems ok, but the Denali put the TX above the GMC logo!

Good info. Denali install of parking sensors and front redone just have to align the heads and level them and wireloom the wires in engine bay. Came out pretty good.

drivers side fender there is a rubber grommet that can be pulled snd allows easy access to kick panel drivers side. Used fuse #36 as switched power to tap into.

The GT500 is here but they are also getting a 2019 ZL1 1LE Camaro with 2k miles that I want to see and pick one. So next install maybe the Zl1

The sensors blend VERY nicely into the grill! Almost invisible, and you have to really look for them even knowing they're there. Of course, get the setup tested when you can.

Thanks for sharing the updates.

If you encounter DE, 1 TX might not be enough on the Denali. I had issues until I got a second TX on my 1500 and theres issues with @SilenceDogoodNinja's 2500 with only 1 TX as well.
So you end up with 2tx/rcv and 2tx on the front?

Yep. Shown here:

Note the TX are on a splitter and have to be 1 blue/1 green or it doesn't work.
