Where would yall install the rx and tx on a bmw x5m?

I had the alp installed on a bmw m4, so I have a general idea on where to place them.

Have you checked out the Show Off Your Install forum yet? There's a few in there that are in keeping with your configuration, and some very nice BMW stealth installs complete with testing results, including one very nice install by @MusaicDesign.

I would go with these locations, on the front there's 2 options for the RX and TX IMO. If it was me I would be doing it in the kidney grills.

Teal for RX, Red for TX

Rear is opposite colour code because I have a short attention span and also lazy:

I agree with the above. For the front I would install in the grills over the bumper due to the fact that the side curvature of the bumper might block part of the heads from off-axis shots. The TX can be lowered a bit more in the grill

Kinda. Unfortunately my M4 was totaled in an accident back in February. I was able to save my ALP system beside the front 2 RX sensors, TX sensor and GPS antenna. Then about a month later the PCM in my daily driver crapped out. I decided I would replace both vehicles with the X5M. Once I get the ALP system installed, I would definitely need your assistance in testing it.

I'd also go with the kidney grille. I have triple Rx mounted in the bumper and I get some PT on DE. Since I don't have a Tx the kidney grille wasn't an option for me. (nice X5M btw, love those SUVs)

I'm about to get my ALP installed tomorrow. If I install the RX and TX in the grill will it be an issue when I have to open and close the the hood? I'm trying to think of a way to fasten the cables to the hood but still have some cable slack for when the hood is open. I'm not trying to rest the cables on a hot motor.

You could possibly run the cables through the hoodor between the hood and insulation, theres likely insulation on the bottom side of the hood (typical these days) and then you would only need a bit of slack near the hinge.
