If you guys want no highway icons at all, I can get rid of the ones for limited-access highways, too. I plan to add support for custom map themes/styles soon.

Personally, I like having state and interstate highways marked, but all the little state roads in some areas presents a lot of white tags with 3-4 digit numbers. Below is what I'm talking about for those that don't know.
The setting is found at Settings > Display > Alert Map > Dark Theme Map Type > Choose "Darker 2"

Looks like an issue with Google Maps API. Lots of reports for many apps in just the past few hours. Wait a while and try again, or try disabling the alert map if you don't have to have it for now.

Seems to affect apps installed or updated in the past couple hours or so. My main dev phone was working fine earlier today, then after pushing a build from Android Studio, with no changes--crashes on map load. My daily driver phone is running a build from last night, and it works fine.

Nothing imminent, because I'm not finding a fix for maps crashing. The problem is on Google's end.

That won't help. The app is crashing because of an issue with the Google Maps API. Until Google fixes the API, only disabling the alert map will stop the crashing.

Now my daily driver is affected, so it doesn't matter when the update or installation occurred. The issue seems to have affected different devices at different times.

@NVR2FST, I found the issue, affecting suspicious helicopters only. Will be fixed in next update. Thanks for the report!
