My phone typically isn’t in a convenient place when driving, but if I could use the notification from my watch and tap mute (for example) and it’d be much more convenient than fishing for my phone.

Watch extension Already exists.

But I don’t understand why so many people need to manually mute.

Set it up to AutoMute. I NEVER touch the V1.

There are a few reasons I can think of.

Because sometimes 5 secs is still too long at times when there are other people in the car, especially with layered protection and more than one device is going off (waze, another detector etc)

Another reason is the mute level. If you decided to mute to a lower volume the new v1 might be going off for 2 minutes with an encounter, and some of us want it the ability to make it totally silent when we wish.

I have mine set up to automute to no sound for K after 5 secs, but no automute with Ka. So I have to press to mute Ka.

I will download the new version of the app when it is ready, but it would be nice to have the ability to automate to a lower level and then if you touch the screen or press the V1, it goes totally silent. Similar the way the escorts work. Unless I messes up and it can do this already and I missed the proper settings.

Thanks for the app!!

Why not Automute Ka as well?

Its my bigger threat and I don't want to miss any of them. There have been a few times when I muted the original alert and then stopped paying attention, talked to my wife and caught myself speeding up again before I hit the trooper. After many year of detector usage on long trips, I think I am somewhat conditioned to think everything is all clear when there is no noise from the detector.

Also I like to hear the ramp up and watch for the LEO and tactics on Ka band, so if it is just me in the car I rarely mute the Ka encounter. At times I turn automate on Ka on, but only once in a while - on the escort detectors I rarely turned on the mute a and was used to pressing the button or app.

It might not make sense to anyone else, but that is how I deal with it.

Fair enough.

Have you tried the Apple Watch extension?

Default behavior is if you raise your wrist to view shortly after notification it will mute it.

I need to redo some testing. My older watch might be to slow.

I am not sure who you are asking me or the OP, but I do not currently have an apple watch - so it looks like I have to get one. For some reason I think digital watches don't fit with me - like wearing socks with sandals or me wearing skinny jeans.

I have been holding out getting one since I prefer the analog gauges and have a crapload of watches I never use, I did just order a citizens bt watch from Japan, but I am fairly confident that wont work with the app.

Sorry for the late reply - how I have to keep my phone in my car it’s not easy to hit mute (nor can I legally use my phone), but if I can just force touch the notification on my watch when the notice pops up and have a way to just blacklist that signal if I know it’s a false, or just to silence it from my watch, it’d be much more preferable

I will do some testing with my Apple Watch as I just noticed this functionality after seeing this thread.

I would not bother until next Beta comes out. Waiting on review.

Is there a way to turn off "raise to Mute"? I had an issue yesterday when I came up on a Ka hit, and the V1G2 muted. Couldn't figure out why, then I figured out I raised my watch to check the frequency. I like to hear the "ramp up" to figure out the location of the cop.

Thanks in advance

Option in V1Driver on the iPhone under AutoMute settings.

Maybe I might default that Off.

Thank you... Quick question, how do you unmute in V1Driver if I do keep the raise to mute function?

There is no manual unmute.
