Everything old is new again. Might have found a few boxes of PCB pots in storage. :)

Glad to see Cobra is still staying firm on providing us with the peak of UI by including a knob. They truly know how to market such a premium detector

Yeah, very old school. I kinda like it. Many people like tactile feel vs. pressing buttons.

I wonder if all the mfrs are going to try to step up their game since Uniden raised the bar a few years ago and now Valentine has released their newest design !!

Why not make a 1080p or a 1440p?

"Enhanced 2X detection range of competitors". They need to define their competitors. Perhaps, their team is on :catdrugs: I'll give that claim over the Batman detector :roflolmao:

Anyway, thanks for sharing the new news.

Those aren’t knobs, those are wheels. Many Cobras have used thumb wheels like that. Certainly makes it easy to eliminate the volume quickly :)

They're referring to the knobs that will buy these units and interface with the "wheel" 😉

Wow! So cool! They all are shaped well to wedge them in between the windshield and dash. The wedge shape prevents them from moving around. Look for more Epic Fail Cobra picks with this advanced backwards mounting. After all, they provide 380 and 480 degree of radar coverage. The heck with only 360 degree coverage. With up to 480 degrees of coverage, they say 2X more range.. :)

:allears:
Because they insist on advanced interlaced tech. “P” will not do. They are looking at making 1080i right now. :) One Thousand and Eighty Degree of coverage. :)

Cobra has silently introduced:

Cobra Rad 480i - new version of 480 with curved case and button layout.
Boasts 2x the range of the previous Rad 480 - @Vortex @Brainstorm69 @Jag42 - we may need to test as an inexpensive detector?

Corbra Rad 380 - Reminds me of days of old (display).

It's probably close to a LRD950 or a Radenso XP. I will think about it.

I believe these were discovered last week.

Doubt much value in testing but if someone really wants to go for it I'm sure we will have our expectations met.

I’m curious to test it and see if it’s decent given that Cobra can use some of Escort’s tech now. V1G2 has all my attention now, but maybe after? Personally I’d rather look at the Road Scout first. Usually the bottom of the barrel detectors don’t really interest me.

Reading through their specs and manual, I don’t see any GPS muting features like low speed muting or lockouts either through the detector or the app. There’s automatic speed based sensitivity using the app as well as RLC and cloud alerts with the app, but that’s about it.

So I guess it’s a non-GPS detector with hopefully(?) reasonable performance and filtering with cloud alerts added in.
