Otherwise I feel they will fall far behind, since no one has a reason now to purchase the max 360c, since the new v1 gen. 2 has superior range and the arrows on the v1 w the new OLED display look way better of course, as that’s a given especially in the dark.

I still love my redline ex and plan on keeping it to keep testing with my v1. Idk it just grew on me and was love at first sight, as I mostly fell in love w the detectors capability to detect mrct in Chicago so well.

Looking at teardown pics, the new V1 is using traditional surface mount LEDs as they have in the past. There's more of them which seems to provide a more uniform appearance.

Thank GOD it's not OLED!!! OLED wouldn't last the typical lifetime of a V1.

Yes that’s what I was told the display is LED, maybe I am mistaken for saying it is an OLED display.
An OLED display is usually multicolor and can display images, numerals and whatever. It usually has red, green and blue pixels. I assume the V1Gen2 display uses red LEDs in a backlit configuration with a mask that is translucent in select areas. Of course, the Bluetooth indicator would use a blue LED.

What? Testing has not come in yet (to my knowledge), so how do you know it has superior range? Don't get me wrong, the V1G2 made some nice improvements but by no means were they groundbreaking, that we know of yet. It does not have GPS, does not have frequency read out, and may not have MRC(X) - all of which are important to some people. So far the testing done (higher up) shows great potential things for Ka, but maybe not so good for some aspects of K band - for those who live in K heavy we need to see further data. Sure, does it make the decision harder between the two units, of course, but by no means is there a clear winner....as of yet. Give it a few weeks, lets see what testing reveals then we can go ahead and accurately rank these RD's.

No my friend I meant like a new portable detector that’s superior in range and offers new features to revolutionize the radar industry.
Escort doesn’t generally revolutionize the industry. Radenso is more likely to do that. Escort typically likes to make small and incremental changes. (We added BT! We moved the BT chip inside the detector! We added a WiFi chip!)

Even when they release something brand new on their end like the digital Max platform, it may take yeeeears for that platform to live up to its potential. All the HD DNA DSP IVT took a while to get to where it is today.

If Escort does a windshield mount Max Ci 360 with WiFi, for example, that could be pretty excellent too and would offer many of features the V1 Gen 2 does and more. The V1 would still have its own advantages too though, but it’s likely Escorts best shot at taking the crown... at least until Theia shows up and steals everyone’s thunder.

I am sure that Escort is likely working on a new successor "flagship" model to the Max360c. The Max360c was introduced at the end of 2017, and normally Escort introduces a new "flagship" model every few years. I would imagine the Max360c will drop in price much like the Max360 did when the Max360c was introduced. When I bought my Max360 in February of 2019, I knew the R7 was coming soon (I love my R3), and I was hoping Escort would not introduce a successor model just after I bought my Max360c. That was a "risk" for me when I bought my Max360c that the Max360c was at the "end of its flagship" life cycle.

I agree with you that the introduction of the new V1G2 and the upcoming Radenso Theia that Escort needs to "bring it" and "step it up" with their next successor "flagship" model. If Escort drops the price of the Max360c, I am sure people will continue to buy it. I think it is still a good solid detector for many people, but the bar is being raised. A lot of people buy the Escort branded detectors based on the name recognition. I like my Max360c a lot, and it is working very well for me at this time, but I know that based on Escort's past history on introducing new models, they probably have a successor "flagship" model in the works and in the pipeline.

I didn’t realize the 360c had been out so long.
l loved he detector but 1 of the reasons I returned it was because it seemed they were still working out the bugs. Why would it still have issues?

My Max360c had some of those “bugs”, and it took two trips to Escort for service for my current Max360c to get it working properly. This last trip to Escort plus the newest firmware 1.11 for my Max360c seems to have worked out those “bugs” on my detector, and my Max360c is working very well. Not everyone with the Max360 or Max360c has had issues, but some of us have. I enjoy running the Max360c as it has very good BSM filtering and very good warning range for my driving environment. I also like the display, the arrow transition, the Escort warning tones, and having the frequency display on the detector.

I agree that it shouldn’t be taking (or have taken) this long to address the traditional K-band lockups and the silent/sleeping lock ups that have affected some of the Escort 360 models.

From watching some of the trade show videos with interviews Escort reps I got the impression that corporate was steering more toward software/cloud sourced solutions and alerts utilizing their database and apps rather that a hardware revolution. So, it will be interesting to see what develops subsequent to V1.2 & Theia.

This thread is pretty much click bait.
@HamSolo you are pretty heavy over in the V1 forum praise the V1G2, I don't see the point of starting another V1 discussion here in Escort forum.
Escort hasn't answered the bell for any other competitors products the last couple of years, why would anything change the days after release of the V1G2?
Let's let the testing come in, rank the top end detectors and let results and features speak for themselves.

I would love to see your R-EX vs V1G2 comparison and testing though.

No worries, I’ll do a comparison test for you soon with testing each individual detector to see it’s true potential in terms of range.

I bought 2 different 360s within 45 days and they both had a lot of KA rear issues but for the most part I liked how silent they were.

Escort can't make detector that is more sensitive than one based on a platform they made in 2006.
I don't expect to ever see anything game changing or revolutionary come out with the Escort/Beltronics/Cobra/Snooper brand on it again.
