I don't have a BT adapter for my gen1, so I've never been able to use any of the apps. Will eventually go to the car and check. Then I'll come back asking what it's missing vs the last gen1

How necessary are K lockouts now? Does the gen2 block out stationary K falsing from door openers based on radar signature?
I've been running a week and many hundreds of city miles with lockouts and box mutes, etc. disabled. It's not perfect, but it is substantially better. I can drive by a grocery store without a single alert that I previously had many lockouts for.

Mine has been about the same. Haven't had many Laser falses like other members have been experiencing
I've turned off laser. Ran laser on my V1 for 19 years. Once I got comfortable with the TMG setup, I turned of V1's laser so that the log files would be cleaner.

It means you have the Custom Frequencies mute boxes enabled.
PS Try disabling them, like it is from the factory, and get used to running it that way for a while before enabling them later if you feel you need to and have a good grasp on what the windows should be. As a reminder, Custom Frequencies are NOT Custom Sweeps and do NOT represent the old model or improve range. The V1 still sweeps the entire bands no matter what you set in Custom Frequencies.

Go ahead and send the Max 360 back. I have both max360c and V1.2. Max360c is nice and quiet, but V1.2 is "mo betta" unless you want quiet and top tier range isn't necessary.

There are eleven programming options- why does the icon for one (apparently the symbol for "K-verifier," whatever that is) show up as part of the standard startup sequence?

That behavior is a carry over from the previous V1. The "t" was for TMF/TMF2/Junk-K. I am guessing VR got enough phone calls about K band noise that they needed an easy way to double check that this feature is enabled on detectors, and they made it part of the startup sequence.
The older V1's used to display "P-o-P" to indicate POP was enabled as part of the boot sequence. These new ones don't anymore.

Hey @centerpunch! Interesting question there. Yeah, I guess I can buy jdong's idea that knowing for sure if K-Verifier is on might be important. Kind of hard to show a K in that display. 
(I can see how TMF became less of the proper term so I guess K-Verifier is more appropriate.)
What are your thoughts on some of the failures in the V1 Gen2? Surely you might have a little insight to offer.

Does anyone know of a settings tutorial for the V1 Gen2? I am using V1driver but not sure what everything is on the app. I also don’t see a K Verifier option. I was just at Lowe’s and the K band was going crazy showing 6 bogies.

K-Verifier is on by default. If the "t" shows up when you start the V1 Gen2, then K-Verifier is on. (Hey, jdong was totally right!)
You can also check it by going into manual programming at: https://www.valentine1.com/the-v1-difference/v1-programming/
Or by using the V1 Connection app from Valentine. https://www.valentine1.com/v1-detectors/v1-radar-detector-apps/
Once you have used that ^ app to set options, you can go back to V1 Driver for general use.

@Bloovy One I haven't used a detector of any kind for probably 15 years, so I actually have zero relevant insight on any current detector.
I just bought a high-profile vehicle that was already wired for a V1, and when the new version coincidentally materialized after the company's inexplicable 11 month absence from the market, it seemed interesting enough to give it a try.
