With the current design, this is possible, but...............although it does slide in and out there is a decent amount of "hoop" pressure that holds the head in the mount. You'd have to be extra careful that you don't apply a lot of force to the adjustable area while removing the head or it may move a bit. I mean, it's strong and seems like it's very rigid under normal circumstances but if you were to wrench hard on it, it would probably move.So will it get to the point the mount is installed and the head can be removed and put back? If so, that would be nice since the mount would be the thing to make sure stays aligned. The head could go away for a bit for various reasons like being lazy and using a drive thru wash or extended parking in places you don't trust. Install the mount with magnets inside the cutout area that hold the sensors in place allowing them to be sturdy yet removable.
If enough people are interested in some sort of quick detach design, I could probably come up with something though. I'm guessing it would get more complex than these.

Here is the new design for an adjustable grill-mount holder. I should be printing these soon.
Adjustable from the front.....
Or from the side
The design has a large range of adjustment. The smallest part of the range is down at around 5 degrees to the mount base, but usually the grills are downward sloping anyway so I don't think it will be a problem. It will adjust 10 degrees up and has as much rotation as you'd want as long as you can reach one of the adjustment screws.
The mount can also be used in an orientation 90 degrees or 180 degrees to the depictions above. The 90 orientation might help in certain installations and the 180 would allow for more space behind the head and greater range of upward tilt if mounted inverted.
90 degree orientation:
The mount is about 23mm tall from the bottom of the base top of the sensor enclosure when the top and base are parallel.
In it's shortest (depth-wise) mounting orientation, it's 72mm from the front of the sensor to the rear of the base.
Width is 63.5mm
There are provisions for 4 M4 flat-head screws for mounting purposes, or 3M tape can be used or zip ties of course...haha.
Hopefully I'll have some of these to try next week sometime.
Also, if there are any trusted members here that are going to be doing an install that would really benefit from either of these mounts, I may send a couple out for them. Hopefully, they'd be used on a difficult or fussy install that would take full advantage of their adjustability.
