So, TTS seems to mispronounce quite a lot of words because of abbreviations.

Could we get a patch at your convenience to change some abbreviated words as they're fed into TTS so that it's pronounced correctly?

Expwy, Expy, Exp --> Expressway (instead of 'expwee')
SR --> State Route (instead of Senor)

Makes sense, easily fixable. BTW everyone can make my job much easier if you could put more abbreviations that sound wrong to this thread :)

For now I know the following wrong pronunciations: St (street), cardinal directions, SR (State Route), Ln, Pkwy, Expwy, Expy, Exp, Ave, Blvd, Dr.

Also I don't think it is good idea to expand interstates (e.g. I-5) and US (e.g. US-101).

So everyone's help here is appreciated :)

I noticed some SR roads are pronounced properly and some aren't. Weird.

Any case,

U.S. instead of 'us'.

Tun, Tunn, Tn --> Tunnel
But distinguish tn and Tn from TN which is Tennessee?

I noticed one this morning. I-405 is pronounced I-four-oh-five, which is perfect, but the 101 was pronounced U-S-one-hundred-one. U-S-one-oh-one would be better.

At the risk of opening a complete can of worms, LAPD is pronounced Lapd instead of L-A-P-D, but I'd imagine that there are so many acronymns in use across the various police forces that it doesn't make any sense to try to account for these.
