Is the Max II compatible with any Escort jammers? If so, which ones? In advance, thanks.

You can use both the ZW5 and ZR5 with it as stand-alone jammers I believe.

May I ask what you mean by "stand alone"? The Escort site says the ZW5 requires a (1) compatible radar detector, which is described as either ESCORT MAX 360, RedLine EX, MAX 360c or iXc, and (2) must be used with Smart Cord. I am guessing that you mean the ZW5 will work, but it may not fully "integrate" with the Max II, whatever that might mean.

You mean the same way that you could run ALP or TMG?
I guess I am not understanding what Escort means by the ZW5 requires a compatible RD, described as the ESCORT MAX 360, RedLine EX, MAX 360c or iXc.

I don’t see the Max II in that list.
Terrific, we can both read! Things are looking up! ;) Now then, as you likely know, the Max 360 is a successor to the Max II, and they share a similar platform. If the platforms and firmware are similar or the same, I would like to know why the Max II is not compatible, IF it is not compatible. You might have noticed that each of the detectors described as "compatible" are ALL still available from Escort. That may be the reason why the Max II is not listed - it is no longer available from Escort. If you know the answer, do tell - please. I am not asking the question just for the sake of yammering on.

When I had the Max II briefly there was something in the Escort Live settings or the detector that was for "shifters".
Not in the manual.
I can't remember anything more about it as I quickly skipped over it to set up for my father to use.
I might be able to visit it by the end of the week and check.

This is what I am staring at ...

I know there may be better jammers, but the idea that this may be "compatible" with the Max II (whatever that means), seems attractive to me.

Don't narrow your options because you want something "compatible" with your radar detector. Get the best system you can for your budget. TMG and ALP are better systems.

I have no clue about the jammer systems or their integration.
There are a ton of experts here that do though.

I know a jammers compatibility with a detector definitely sounds attractive, but I would try to do some research before buying this particular one. I live where you do, and you will want to look and see if you can find any test results for the kinds of guns which are used in our area.. Marksman/Ultralyte, Prolaser 3/4, Stalker XLR, and recently saw a Truspeed TSS in Prescott. You would be fine with a 2 head ALP, and TMG should be good too. In the end of the day it’s everyone’s choice what they buy, I’m just saying see if you can find some test results against those guns, then base your decision on that. Lots of testing results posted on this forum. And happy new year to ya.

On Escort Live, for years there was a shifter on/off choice. Been some time since running EL with Max. Unless there is some odd code for Max they abandoned, should still work. But hey, they might have pulled support some time ago, and updating F/W, laser Integration was taken out.

I would trust @ron topa view above. He knows ER platforms, uses them daily (so do I), does not carry a anti ER viewpoint.

Think he's asking if the wireless shifters would sync up. I don't believe they do. In the list of detectors i think it said more detectors may be added at a later date or something along those lines but to my knowledge the max 2 still isn't on the list. Think you need the detector to use as a display and controller with all their jammers. Maybe im wrong on the hard wired one but for the wireleas you at least need a compatible detector.

Would be nice if the wireless ones worked with the max 2, and if they reliably jammed newer guns. Would be a heck of a lot easier install and cheaper over alp. But 1, the wireless ones don't work with max 2, and sounds like their jammers don't reliably jam harder guns and the alp is the only one to get for the best and future proofness even if you don't face dragoneye at the moment in your area. Could be wrong on some of this but from memory and what I've seen seems to be how it is

Exactly! That said, it will take more time to sort this out. I received the Max II from Escort this past weekend. I could not get the RD to pair with the App. Grrrr..... After an hour on the phone with Escort, its going back for repair/replacement. Annoying.

I posted that I would look into the compatible shifter for Max II that I've seen in Escort Live settings.
Here it is just moments ago.
ZR3 only.

FWIW: The menu option for shifters on the 360 and Ex read ZR3, even with the ZR5 connected. It seems as if ER never updated the menu as they rolled out newer models (ZR4, ZR5, ZW5)

I know this thread is in regards to the Max2, and at some point in time it was included on the list of approved RDs. Per the attached it’s stated as compatible in the ZW5 manual.

Dang, that sucks. Did you get a different max 2 or go another direction? I never have even tried to use the app. Don't have any apps on my phone. Seems like too much going on, burn up data, and i drive a lot in country and there are some places i go where cell sognal gets shoddy so wouldn't be reliable anyway. Wouldn't get any device where you MUST use an app. Want a nice stand alone unit that doesn't rely on cell or gps reception
