Not so hot. Today I hopped in the truck with my daughter to spend the day driving around on errands, etc. From the time I backed out of the garage the 360c was bleating on about a Ka band hit. The weird thing is the frequency kept changing. Strength remained a 1 or 2 with an occasional 3-4. This went on for over 3 miles on a route I drive every day several times. No police anywhere near me. I rebooted the unit and within 2 minutes it began doing it again. The frequencies I saw are not frequencies I've ever seen with any of my other RDs (Radenso, Escort, etc) I had my daughter shoot a little video to show you all here. A few more reboots with the same behavior and then it suddenly cleared up. Didn't do it the rest of the day.

It didn't do this yesterday or last night either.

We're not off to a good start it seems.

I've never seen a 33.640 Ka hit on any detector ever.

Sorry to hear. Looks like another member has had issues with 33.640 too.

I had kind of the same problem. My 360c was showing Ka34.580 and no matter where do I turn, the arrow would always point front. I had to send it twice back to escort in order to get it fixed. Just received unit today, so I'm still testing it

Back to the mother ship!
I think he's better off returning it to Best Buy. Much faster, doesn't have to pay for shipping, etc. Escort QC has been questionable lately. Wouldn't want to send it in and get this back:

What pisses me off is I went through this crap with the Max when it came out. I waited to buy this new "flagship" unit thinking they wouldn't have this issue again. Sold my 2 Max units this week and was really excited to get this new unit.

Now I'll probably end up returning this thing and trying to find an older Max or Max 2 to use.

Fool me once...shame on you....

Sorry to hear you got a bad one. As others have said take it back and exchange it until you get one you are happy with and feel you can trust.

This was the last one they had in stock. I'll call them to see what they can do.

I still believe it’s FW. I don’t think another detector is going to solve that.
Unless it’s of a different brand, which is highly recommended anyways

That's damn sure how I would fix it! It's hard to believe that they also built the Redline-O!

So this issue cleared up for him after a couple of reboots, and didn't happen again. I would factory reset it and make sure it has its latest firmware. If the firmware itself is the issue like @Heywood suggests, then why isn't everyone's 360c doing it? Mine isn't doing it 🤷‍♂️

If you want the most up to date Max II this is what I ordered last weekend from Escort through eBay.

If it’s not.... how do you know it’s working? Lol.
Im just kidding.

Something is causing it. It could be a setting that some of us are running or even Escort Live App.

Some have even resorted to driving around with a radar gun handy when it’s been to quiet for too long. Like @DrHow

You may never know it’s locked up. We were lucky because it’s been cause issues like this that we can see. Some are not as lucky. It happened to me as well

I have a lot of K band speed signs. I actually have a course of 7 that takes me less than 10 minutes to run. These are CW K band speed signs that run anywhere from 24.120 to 24.190.

Every detector I run on that course picks them out and allows me to lock them out. They never miss. Let’s me know they’re operational.

The 360C is hit and miss. Sometimes it’s locked out, sometimes it alerts, and sometimes it just totally misses it. It’s not consistent like all the others.

When I mean others.... I’m talking about 12+ other detectors I have. 4 of them are Escorts. An R-EX , RX65, and Max. Now the 360C. The others are Uniden’s and Radenso’s.

I just did a MRCD test of the Max360C this week. It’s in the testing section. It missed a totally live trap I went through. (Run 5)

You can tell because the rear camera video is there as well that shows it flashing a car behind me while it was dead silent.

It has a couple of other issues as well.

I like the Max360 series. Both of them. Just be careful when running the new FW. The detector has an error log so if there’s something physical wrong with the hardware, chances you’ll have something in the error log. Like a “Check FR” message. I had one on my R-EX.
These issues the 360C is having, for me, are not showing up in the error log. They’re so sporadic, it’s almost surely a FW issue.

Afraid you are right on this one. Get brand new BB unit in exchange. If second one does same thing, set it on fire on the porch of @EscortRadar Larry. Better yet the CEO. :)

It was brand new and I updated the FW the evening before.

If mine was an outlier I'd tend to agree with you, but there are many having the same issues and more.

At this point I wish I'd kept one of my original Max.
