I personally by "tons" from Amazon!
Why?
First Bc of their reviews are massive!
It's always easy to get a feel for the trouble spots of any product as well as the perks!
*second no fuss on returns,
*third protection and good customer support.

Companies are discovering its cheaper to use Amazon than maintain a network of customer support that cost big bucks.. Why reinvent the wheel?

*And last I get it super fast!

Yea I know it kills some small businesses but rather than fight technology, better to embrace it & let it work for you!

Radenso should definitely stay on Amazon IMO.

Having said that, many people are just flat out impulsive and will by immediately out of a box store bc they can put their hands on it now! Or maybe bc they like the local customer service.

With a decent user manual that explains the power & benefits of Theia, there may be a lot less tech support questions & phone calls.

1. we live in an online world nobody shops brick and mortar like they used to.
2. like I siad the high end detector market do not sell to retail stores like Best buy. theres a reason for that buyers who shop BB and other retail stores don't spend $1k+ on radar detectors.
3. the best windshield mount detector for 20+ years was only sold mail order/online.

do you really think some pimply faced teenager is going to promote the product the way it should? the answer is no. A high end detector like Theia will not sell well at a retail location like BB.

Really? Maybe it’s an American thing. Some of the things in Canada can’t be bought from the manufactures due to distribution agreements.

I can’t buy Radar detectors directly from Radenso. I can’t buy Radar detectors directly from Escort. Same with Uniden or ALP.

I can buy accessories, but the detectors themselves.... not allowed.

The only detector I’ve ever boughten online was a Max360. Every other detector was purchased from a Brick and Mortar stores. Not specifically Bestbuy, and only because they didn’t have the one I wanted, but I’ve boughten my Pro-Ms from another B&M store. If BestBuy had it, I probably would’ve bought it from them.... more so if I had a couple of BB gift certificates kicking around.

The Brick and Mortar stores also have financing, easy exchanges, and extended warranties. Your making a expensive purchase like that, why not?

You’ll buy a $2500 big screen TV from Bestbuy, why wouldn’t you buy a $1000.00 radar detector.

I’m extremely hard to buy for. If there’s something I want I just go buy it. I don’t wait for birthdays or Xmas. BestBuy gift certificates is one of the things I ask for as presents. I’m very particular in what I’m buying. The things I want are things I wouldn’t expect someone to buy for me because it’s generally expensive or specific.

As for a pimpled faced sale person? If I’m buying something like that, I already know more about it than he/she probably does. I’ve researched it and options before I enter the store.

Maybe someone wants something expensive like Theia.... All the major B&M stores have in store credit applications or layaway programs.

Escort Radenso and Uniden do sell at Brick and Mortar stores.

Best WS mounted detector? Matter of opinion. To you maybe. They certainly do not have the market share the rest of them do. Personally it’s an expensive doorstop and unusable for me.

Sure, online shopping has put a dent into the B&M stores, but some people prefer to put their hands on things before they buy it. Don’t want things delivered to their house or apartment. Don’t need to explain “What’s in the box?”

I’ve also had Escort lose one of my detectors in the mail after being serviced. Sent it to the wrong address and told me to wait a month before they would look for it... and they sent it. It was the 4th time they sent in back to me in 6 months, so it’s not like they hadn’t done it recently.

All well said, BUT, Online means waiting unless one wants to pay through the nose for overnight delivery. Yes we live online today but today's youth also want everything immediately from what I have seen the last 10 years (doesn't mean all youth, but still plenty). When I make a larger then normal purchase of an expensive item, I like to look at it, think about it, look at it again, think about it some more, go back and play with it, then when I know its the right one, I want to buy it immediately right there and then.

After my cousin rode with me seeing my V1 giving me 3 saves in the space of an hour, he wanted to go out and buy a V1 for his drive home to PA. Sorry mail order only. All I am saying is it is an added way for somebody to purchase a Theia immediately if it available at at least one big box store. By the way, I put my Passport from my Interceptor on my windshield and let my cousin drive home with my V1 while I ordered a new one as I could wait.

I see it at Best Buy and Apple all the time, some guy with an iPhone 8 buying a $1250 iPhone Pro 11 Max with 256G just because they have it in stock and they can touch it and don't have to wait. Granted Theia is not going to have that kind of demand, but again, it would be nice after somebody asks about Theia and wants one to tell them they are available at X big box store. Just my thoughts from what I have seen and been asked after somebody discovers my V1. YMMV.

With that being said, Amazon has gotten redicilous on their service if it's an item they keep in house.
Order by 6pm & get it next day free!

@Heywood I know where you live it won’t work but for me being 20mins from the US border it really comes in handy at times...

Depending on the item type, I am a big fan of Amazon too. One of the other most appealing features from them is there return policy. On a few occasions when I received items that were wrong or damaged the process was very simple fast and easy.

Oh I know.
I think a major portion of our purchases are through Amazon. I Love Amazon prime and free 2 day shipping. I’ve been pretty lucky not having to return anything.

We even do our weekly groceries that way. For $8.00, they bring it right to our door.

Well. Anyway.. Back to questions with @Jon at Radenso ... Lol!

Jon I know you said you won't commit to when this package will be delivered, but can you at least give us a "promise list" of sorts of what the minimum of what will be delivered upon initial release or is it all still up in the air as to what the features will be?

The video interview with Vortex talked about a lot.. Possibilities, dream features, different directions....

When we were working on Yav1, we had a discussion thread "beta users" that hashed over bugs & existing issues of what would be the next release "no more additions",
Then we had another thread open more to the public that discussed hopeful and dream features of release after next.

Things seem so nubulous now.

I know the more info we get the more we want, but it's handy to plan for the future of our next purchases within the next 6 months or year.

I'm trying to decide what to give my wife...
Choice # 1...My R7 & upgrade myself to playing with Theia? Or
#2... get her another R7 when she is used to lockouts that her 9500ix has.

My biggest delimma is I want her to have arrows. She cannot negotiable an app with V1 and I don't prefer Dealing with the remaining vendor with arrows for a bucket load of reasons.

It is an American thing. For the consumer, the defining characteristic of the US market vs the rest of the world is distribution. Wide, easy, unrestricted. I don't think most Americans understand how retail cartels control RoW consumers. That inefficiency is a contributing factor to the functional poverty Europeans live in.

Everything is still under development so we can't give out a full list of every single feature yet.

Radenso's forthcoming RADAR/Laser Detector with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is a breakthrough.

Is THEIA the name of the model of Radenso Countermeasure device?

What does T H E I A mean?

The Intelligent Architecture?

Does somebody know?

Pronunciation, by both Jon and Vortex, can be heard in one of the SEMA videos. I think they also discuss the meaning.

It’s all here. Please consider reading the post all about Theia and the Frequently Asked Questions about Theia, pronounced THEE-uh (soft “th” sound).

@InsipidMonkey had a good one.

Randy: Jon, quick they’re printing the brochures. We need a name now. Like right now. Decide

Jon: The uhhhhh

Randy: Got it .... Theia

lol...

I googled it a little while ago and apparently the original pronunciation is “they-uhh”
