Actually, Jon did state earlier that most of the development work left is indeed software development.

I have no reason to doubt that Theia will be released in 2020. :)

If it’s not in production already it will never be released this year - it has to be completely designed - the only thing that could change is software. If it’s not completely designed it would be much better to say it may not be out this year so people don’t feel like they are being strung along

Still waiting here as well. The great part is it’s taken long enough for me to stash the 1k I may need in my piggy bank for it🤣

I believe they have said testers like @Vortex will have time test before it is released. I hope he is carving out some time during the busy holiday season.

LOL!
Give the guy a break.
Scheduling testing is tough enough without putting a timeline to it.
Anyone who looks up my test threads can see a pattern for a working man trying to contribute here.
Tests done on Boxing day, Labor day, Thanksgiving, Remembrance day, Easter weekend, Canada day.....
Using my stat holidays for test days.
Christmas day I'm saving for opening up Theia.
Maybe test it boxing day.
How's that for optimism?
:D;)

All I'm saying is things are getting pretty tight. If they, you and other are going to test before release, I would think you would need ample time to do so.

The people without a calendar thank you.

You are making one, huge assumption.

I'm too lazy to go back through to try and find it. So yes I'm making a big assumption off a vague memory. "I believe" I remember one of them saying there would be test results from third-party testers available before release. If that was never said you know what they say about making assumptions.

You do not need to go back and find anything. It was said there'd be third party test results before release.

That's not the huge assumption you are making.

My vague memory was more like "Theia would be sent to Beta testers before release for evaluation"
If actual test results are posted in a timely manner, that is more on the testers getting it done.
Radenso may have them sign agreement to hold off until given okay to publish, but all just conjecture.
All I want to see is everyone play by the rules and not alienate more manufacturers by spilling the beans too soon.

Memory must have been vague. Jon and Randy specifically said there would be NO Beta Testers. All Beta testing will be done in house ONLY by Radenso Employees. Now if I remember correctly they basically said that before release to the public, reviewers would get a production unit to review. And if I followed that correctly, there might not be any test data or "reviews" to base ones pre-order on though Jon did say there would be specs and possible test results by Radenso. One will either pre-order because one wants to be a first adopter or one that wants reviews before buying will have to wait along with the unknowing public (again this is if I remember the timeline correctly as I can't find the post I read about this).

Yes, reviewers to receive before release.
Confused with Beta testers.
No help for advanced pre-orders, you will be taking a leap of faith.
