I have a 2 year old V1 with Bluetooth and a dedicated phone that has Yav1 and JBV1 it works fine but friends it is chatty. I'm considering getting a Escort 360c what do you all think?

Would you like some help configuring JBV1 to quiet down your detector? I'd put the V1/JBV1 combo right up there as the quietest possible detector at the moment if you're willing to spend a little time tweaking it to your liking. Lots of info in the JBV1 subforum!

Would be a pretty good time to sell. Prices are inflated because the V1 hasn't been on sale for most of the year and they won't be in stock again for two weeks who knows how long.

On the flip side, if you don't like the 360c, then you'll have a hard time finding another V1.

Something else to keep an eye on is the new Radenso detector. Supposed to be announced shortly but won't be sold until next year.

I've never owned a V1 so I can't speak to V1 vs 360c, but I can say my 360c is very quiet with the latest firmware. And the set-it-and-forget-it aspect is really nice (autolockouts, don't need a separate phone)

They stopped selling them April 2nd. Everyone can do the math from there.
On a site where we discuss minute differences and details, we should be accurate as much as possible. :)

If you want 10-15% range choose R3 R1 over R7
Wait 30 days on Radenso

Yep, you have to invest some time in JBV1 to get it to quite down the V1 but its capable (mine is virtually silent and all the audio goes to through the phone). But if the new detector bug is biting you go for it.

As others have mentioned, the v1 set up correctly with jbv1 will be almost as quite as any other detector. If you're not interested in setting up jbv1, the Radenso Pro m is an excellent detector that is super quite.

If you're still chatty with JBV1, delve into some of the threads discussing settings. Mine is pretty decent now. At least compared to the insanity of the incessant chirping before JBV1. But I'm still not totally satisfied, and range is not what I'd prefer.

I also own the latest version of V1 and by the latest announcement by Radenso with the RAI concept, I'm considering seriously into switching to it and nothing else.

I was in the same boat...
The arrows on my R7 are even more responsive & accurate than my V1 was and the range is stellar.
My only beef is no auto-lockouts.

With that being said, I don't miss them bc I don't travel vast & wide like I used to do its easy to do manual lockouts "mutes" on local falses.

The BS filtration is far better than V1 too.

I love the myriad of customization options too, however the apps avaliable for the V1 give you even more to satisfy the geek in all of us.

With that in mind when the dust settles it's all about great protection with awareness and a peaceful ride.

I also like the multicolored display and how it ramps.

The R7 gives that. With rumors of auto-lockouts it was my purchase, anybody guess as to that though.

My other choice of which I'm not qualified to speak since I don't own one is the radenso pro SE.
Definitely worthy of serious study fur it's stellar range and quiet ride.

They both do it from different angles or points of view, you'll have to decide what's best...

All in all, both are winners.....

But I MUST have arrows... Sorry, now that I've had them.. Can't go back.. No way!

What's this 30 days for Radenso noise... They've made it quite clear the new platform won't be available until sometime 2020 which they aren't even projecting an estimated quarter. One can reason to be that we won't see it Q1 2020 either simply because of how late in Q4 19 we are and the pure logistics of a new platform.

Right now is the best time to sell a V1, the day they finally start shipping new units and are available on their site again, used models will likely normalize again. Now if they don't come back at all... They may climb too.

I would weigh what area you're in, the threats you encounter and geography and start there with a budget in mind.

That post was from before the Theia announcement. I think it was sound advice. I sure would be a lot less interested in investing in a top of the line detector right now knowing I’ll probably want to replace it in a year. Getting by with a midrange detector for now might make the most sense.

I understand the rarer an item gets. The more in value it increases

But I think u would have to find that v1 lover to hit the jackpot if the V1 doesn’t comeback in stock


The V1s itself claim is well documented. But it’s already long past due.

3rd party apps is really what keeps the V1 afloat now

Granted we have to see what theai is about when it gets released

But the radenso team is solid. I will bet money that they won’t release something if it isn’t “the best” and here is the thing. It will get even better with updates based on user feedback

And with an open api. It’s in the hands of the ppl to give themselves additional option

So really why anyone besides the greatest V1 lover buy an inflated priced V1 over a theai?


If I didn’t have sentimental value for my V1. I would dig it out and sell it now.

Unless you're set on Escort as a company, I wouldn't support them.

If you are only evaluating the 360C then I think it will treat you mostly ok. It has some know issues, mostly with software lockups.

My other recommendation, in general, is to purchase a Pro M or R7. I think these companies are more supportive of the community. Radenso seems to be a great American company who will be releasing awesome tech in 2020. If you like what you see, I'd support them by purchasing something they sell now, or waiting to see their new offering!

If you think the V1 is chatty, the Pro M will blow your mind with its filtering capabilities. No settings tweaks even required, if you want, from Radenso's factory settings for ultimate quietness and protection.
