Hey there my first post! I have been reading for a few days now and I find the community awesome!

Thinking of buying my first RD - R3, R7 or 360c probably ;) [still need to do more research]

Welcome to the forum! There are lots of us from the Charlotte area. I have an R3 and have been very happy with it so far.

Welcome to RDF!

All three of those detectors are great choices. The 360c has (possibly had) a silent/sleeping lockup issue that may have been resolved in the latest firmware (1.10), but it hasn’t been released long enough to know for sure.

What's your normal travel? NC has it all as far as terrain.

Then I think I will go with the R3 and take a blendmount for my car ;)

I am most of the time in town, I commute from south charlotte to uptown and sometimes take the 77 or 485.

The R3 is a good choice. I'm running the R7 right now and it's a great RD.

What's made you take the R7 over the R3?

Welcome and buckle up! R7 is the latest and greatest at the moment for WS detectors.

I've got 3 R3s....went to kiddos and wife's vehicles. The R3 is a great RD. My R7 has a little more range based on my testing and gives you more situational awareness. The R7 has more lockout memory too. Really, you can't go wrong with either of those choices.
