Clue's in the name
This is proof that V1 fanbois are on a completely different level compared to other manufacturers fanbois
Someone noting that Mike V. shut down his Twitter account makes us "fanbois"?

I heard he was hanging out with Kanye West. He's going to storm the stage, "Radenso, I'm ma let chu finish. But Valentine has the best detector of all time!"

I do not want to be the pesimistic one here but having been in this position before, it feels like he is finalizing selling of the V1 to another company and he is shutting down his twitter to avoid reading the backlash.

We may get a new V1 , but is not going to be made by Mike and it will definitely not be in two weeks.

That doesn't make sense, the acquirer would rather have a strong and healthy company if they were going to continue operating them. The only way this makes sense is if someone just bought the name to the V1 but was not interested in any of the assets or ongoing production.

What if a competitor of VR recently purchased them for their accumulated knowledge, secrets and pending patents with no intention of continuing the V1 product line?
Would Mike agree to this if he was tired of running the company and knew it would help to put a dagger into a certain other competitor as his final opus?

Far-fetched, I know.

But who? Escort and Uniden are ahead of Valentine on DSP. Valentine probably has better analog knowledge, but it's not like a night and day difference. The name is valuable, but I'm not really sure how valuable any tech is to another company.

Exactly.

One well known purchaser of names is Escort. They purchased Beltronics, Cobra and if they purchase V1 they will make a new updated V1 with a Valentine one on the label with some heavy Escort electronics under the hood.

As an added bonus they would get all the patents Mike owns.

Think about a V1 with GPS, auto lockouts ,arrows JBV1 access and some extra range.. this detector would blow all the competition out of the water.

Isn't most of the value in the brand at this point? The unit itself separated without an app is not on par with any $400 plus models available today as it surviving on the app integration the last few years to make up for the lack of all the basic built in features that are common these days.

When this "parts" shortage never seemed to end it made me think things were winding down. Now he is going off the grid completely. He is getting up there in age and may want to step away and do other things at this point in his life. Most people reach that point sooner or later and don't want to work till they are in the ground.

Of course I am speculating and many think he will never retire but the timing of all this is peculiar at the very least. Maybe there will be something announced in two weeks. As I recall you seemed to know his sales numbers. I can't imagine how you go hold of that info with how little info he shares (about zero) that would be something i would think he would keep close to the vest more than anything.

Are they ahead on DSP? Have you any thoughts regarding the recent patents that have been approved and those still pending?
