Brings back memories of some great road trips!
Which one of these are currently being sold? I may be wrong but I don't think any of them are for sale these days other than used units. And only one of them is currently still beind sold"
Pretty sure you can still buy a new R3Which one of these are currently being sold? I may be wrong but I don't think any of them are for sale these days other than used units.
Yeah, my bad. There is definitely one that is still available and the other one it depends if the definition of "soon" is 6 months to a year or more from last April at this point. Anyway it was nice seeing all the old units and the Uniden. Agree with another poster the Redline definitely deserves a spot in there. It was definitely a benchmark for a long time.Pretty sure you can still buy a new R3
The V1 is temporarily out of stock, not out of production, and you’ll be able to buy one soon, too.
hmm, so I figured it'd be fun to pick up those older gamechanger detectors (which I don't really know anything about) and thanks to a little help from eBay and @radarrob, here we go.
Yeah, you’re right. Probably doesn’t make sense to do that.On-unit AI for filtering doesn't make much sense - you'd need to tag every BSM false you encounter to train it, which won't give you a very good sample size. One wrong click on a real signal could screw your algorithm for a while. Better to centralize the data and processing for a WAY larger sample size plus better data on real detection. This also means new cars with new BSM signatures can be integrated much quicker and more reliably due to larger sample size. You definitely might need a better processor to more finely determine if a signal matches that algorithm (even if it's generated off-site).
