Got this beautiful ~3 mile detection against rolling 35.5 on US-167 south of Little Rock.

So much for my “mostly 34.7” comment @NorEaster18 ;)

The DFR7 really does seem to sit at that value point of performance and reasonable cost IMO! Now if I can just find that most recent Db update!!

I consistently get terrific detection on 35.5 and 34.7, good on K, but don't ask me about 33.8. My 950/DFR7 scares me to death when I see the rare 33.8 appear.

I actually had a 33.8 detection in Louisiana. I had about 15 seconds of warning on a curvy, hilly state highway.

Yes, finally I’m impressed :)
This time around I’m in the family suburban and not my Civic, so the detector is mounted about 3 feet higher. Probably helped a lot

Ya know, you inspired me to run my DFR6 again just for grins!

Excellent detection! The straight shot definitely helped, but 35.5 is still no joke and this is a monster. These DFR's can do some pretty magical things considering what you pay to play with them

That's a really good 33.8 alert for it. What part of Louisiana? I have several trips to New Orleans planned, and one in the north part of the state (I-20 to Monroe).

LA-143 just north of West Monroe actually! I have family there, so I drive down there a lot.
I-530 > US-167 > AR-7/LA-558 > LA-2 > LA-143 into WM is my usual route.

Cool, thanks. My brother is in West Monroe. I was in Monroe in my high school and college years (way more years ago than I will admit!)

Nice detection. It's so satisfying to get those ramp ups and long detections, thinking "where the heck is this guy?"

Is that normal DFR ramp up and max volume? Seems like it never really peaked.

This was actually a better ramp up then I’ve experienced before. The volume was only on 1 or 2 (out of 6) because I had other people in my car.

Here’s some other encounters with it:
DFR7 Ka - Streamable

Yeah the DFR6 and DFR7 have a weird ramp up. I have been using mine again for the past few days and it really is all over the place. I've even noticed that a 4 signal strength can have a faster alert tone rate than 5 at times.

Does anyone know if the ramp up is smoother in the DFR8 and DFR9?

It picked up the reflection off of that overpass as you went underneath!

I love my DFR7. been running it for a couple years and over 30 thousand miles, it has always done a great job for me.
