I've been picking up 24.100 on my Uniden ever since I switched the firmware on my R3 to 1.48 from 1.37. I get it on my R7 too. At 1st it was really infrequent, but now, I'm seeing it almost every other day.. sometimes multiple times in a day. My problem is, I can't figure out what the source might be.

I've seen it on open roads with nothing around me. I've seen in going down a busy street. I've been told it's Benz's BSM, but it doesn't jive.

For example.. today, I'm driving down I95 and there's a Benz about 100ft behind me. All the sudden I get a 24.100 alert.. and it was brief.. as in maybe 2 beeps. So I started circling the Benz and driving in front, side, from behind... and I don't pick up a thing.. 2 hours later, I'm driving down a road, no other cars near me and bam, 24.100 again. So I make a U turn to find the source, but I get nothing this time..

Anyone know what the source might be?

Without being in your driver's seat I really have no idea. That being said, as an aside, I have a couple legit 24.080 and 24.098 around me ( with some drift during the different seasons). Might be nothing judging by where you got hit, but don't let your guard down.

When you were getting these alerts, were they all within the same jurisdiction? Would it be someplace that the same unit would be able to patrol?

I picked up 24.100 in AZ yesterday passing a stat trooper in Arizona with a semi pulled over, I watched the ramp up and as soon as I passed him it fell off.

To add data to this concern I looked in my alert log.
Out of roughly 100,000 K-band hits I found about 550 hits in the 24.090 to 24.109 range that haven't been locked out.
Of these 550, I've only marked 1 as a verified LEO on 5/16 right near Greeneville, TN.
That doesn't mean that there haven't been other actual LEO signals in that same range, but I didn't take the time to mark them as such.

This 24.100± range has almost the least amount of K-band signals I've logged in 16 months and 82,000+ miles.
It's only 15 MHz lower than the center frequency which suggests that most 24.125 radar tends to drift high if it drifts at all.
Also, my front/rear bias and short duration in that range suggests that most of the logged signals in 24.090 to 24.109 are stationary.

I have never seen an association between 24.100 and Mercedes vehicles. After yesterday's observations, I don't think I get anything from Mercedes with filtering enabled.

Thanks folk..

Yesterday, I got 24.100 twice.. Once time, nothing around me. On my way back, about 4 hrs later, I didn't get anything.

Out side of getting a hit exactly on 24.100, I've gotten 24.098 a few times, but I was able to identify the source. And I get some above and below the 24.098/100, but they're always associated with MCRD.

You would think it would be easy to figure out since it's happening more frequently over the months, but the signal is so short lived.. just long enough to tell me its a K band alert and usually nothing around, I just can't figure it out.

Thanks again for the replies.

If it’s any help I get a stationary 24.100 on a road near me.
