Looks like its MRCD based for speed detection.

Have you guys been able to dig and find some tech specs or manufacturer/model info for these cameras?

I think they are not active in daytime. I will have to try later at night and see if I can come up with an hit.

Passed southbound Granville & King Edward this morning, no alert.

I pass the intersection so often, I no longer take note of the red light camera. However, this morning I looked up and noticed a new camera on the NW corner.

According to a government news release yesterday, the new speed cams are triggered by the same sensor loops embedded in the pavement that the pre-existing red light cams used. I don't think there's any radar to detect with these particular cams.

This would make sense. Each lane would need a minimum of 2 loops - to establish speed.

That is correct. We have them here in YWG. Only CM against them is memory and Waze.

Well so far Daze still announces the updated cams as red light and not speed, even though visually I can tell which cams are now speed as well.
I have found that the apps from Cheetah (Tagacam) and Pocket GPS World are up to date.

Those CM’s dont offer alot of confidence..lol...

Here in BC we are still trying determine if there is anyway to detect them, but as @G37X Jockey said above, based on the technology used, it doesn’t look good. Having said that the locations are very clear and public as to where the cameras are so...

Just getting installed this afternoon on Harvey Avenue in Kelowna. (Hwy 97)
It looks similar but different. I will try to get a picture but it's dark now and I'm just visiting today.
Definetly not a sensor in pavement device.
New pole mounted all in one system.

Just took this picture, outside Cactus Club restaurant where we stop for dinner.

So before I got to the camera to take this picture I set the R7 to:
K narrow
K filter off
TSF off
City mode
MRCD on.
The R7 was unusable down Harvey Avenue, don't know if it was BSM or doors, but definetly nothing from the camera.
Expected that because it just got mounted and probably not commissioned yet.
Just surprised at the difference from Adv mode K 30%,K filter on, TSF on, MRCD off.
The R7 has been impeccably behaved this trip and in Kelowna, until messing with filters.

God that intersection will be a huge cash cow especially in the summer!
Well today traffic is so heavy it will have to be late at night or early morning.
But main highway through city, 3 to 4 lanes each way, low speed limit... Yeah, cha-ching!

Curious ...has anyone here or know of someone who received a ticket from these cameras, yet?
