No, it will not match the Pro-M.

The R3 will just false closer to the offending vehicle. The trade off is every other k band signal is limited to your R3 at 30%. Your just stunting the capabilities to compensate for the lack of filtering.

The “K Block” setting will now allow you to run the R3 and R7 with less filtering, but it leaves you open for guns that may drift off its rating plate. Still there’s other culprits.

The Escorts are different. It’s not all of them that have the good filtering and good range. The only one that’s close would be the remote installed Max360CI and maybe the max360C, but don’t quote me on that as I don’t have one of them on hand.

I can only really talk to the detectors I do have so I can directly compare them together.

Anyone wondering what sort of range you get when quieting down an R3 or R7 compared to a Pro M or Max series Escort, see here what happens when you quiet down those detectors.
I have other tests showing various K testing as well, at different setting levels.
Be very careful when trying to compare protection vs. falsing.
The two do not mix well together.

Tried to post earlier but must have made a mistake. It looks like to me the R7 in city mode (18%) is about 32% of when it's set at 100% and at full range it's crazy long. I am primarily in Ka territory so I do use city and the unit is pretty damn quiet while still never a close call in the towns that do run K. Those results you posted seem in line with my experience over the last 1.5 years or so with the R7.

When you compare a R3 or R7 with other detectors receptions when both are set-up for city or lower K falses, the R Series still is jacked up on roids.
People complain about a noisy R7 at 40 or 50% K settings, must realize they are still pulling detection ranges of most premium detectors at their max highway unfiltered settings.
Most should compare the majority of detectors at max sensitivity and low filtering vs a 40% full filtered R7.
Then do a BSM and falsing comparo.
It's extremely difficult to overcome the tendency to run a R7 at higher levels. Most can't get their heads around trusting a City or 30% Adv setting providing excellent protection.
I suppose the R Series should have come with only 60% the current range at max sensitivity. No one would question it's still exceptional range and complaints about being too noisy would be far less.
But it is what it is.

DC you hit the nail on the head for sure. I bumped to 30% but went back to City just because the range is pretty good but false K's are rare. I ran the V1G2 in advanced logic mode and the range was in the danger zone. Twice in the first week I had it running in big L mode I encountered constant on K band slightly off axis with the G2 and it alerted at line of sight but luckily I was driving slower at the time. Picked the same scenario up in city mode on the R7 well before line of sight.

Advanced Logic was the wrong mode to use.

I can't agree more with that. That mode should not even be an option. I can't for the life of me figure why there is any reason it exists and as I said I am primarily in Ka territory. It is silent in that mode though.

Good to hear from you B.
