So as most of us know, @ferius created and continues to develop an awesome app which allows for customizing Waze info and integrating flight tracking, etc - for Droid only!

Several of us have expressed interest in an iOS version - while ferius doesn't dabble on the apple side of the world, @m3o stated he could likely develop an iOS version. In private conversations with m3o (which he allowed me to share), he said he remains interested in this project IF there is enough interest/if it will be used by more than a handful of people - say, dozens.

I would love to have Highway Radar for iOS! I'm not sure what support we can lend - I know nothing that can help on the technical side, so I can offer encouragement and I'm willing to contribute some money. How many more of us are out there? I'm guessing @sdrawkcaB @ron topa @jake072 @Sambeaux @<<JAZZY>> @WJS @gmcv893 @Allen Dockery @HeartDoctor @GTO_04 @Stretch @Up All Night @doubledge @PointerCone at least.

Can we do this!

You may have to go hybrid and run an Android as a supplemental device. That's what many of us do so we can not tie up a single device to multiple apps. Yeah, your vehicle ends up looking kind of like the Millennium Falcon but wtf, the Millennium Falcon is cool.

Been there and done that with YaV1/JBV1 - when I ran M3's for Ka Range and V1 for K & Ka arrows, still used iPhone for Waze and/or Escort Live. I don't mind the look of Millennium Falcon. But sharing data/hotspotting/whatever to get any communication (other than BT) to the Droid is the primary reason I don't wanna do it. I know it can be done, just... I'm simply not going to.

And this is probably among the reasons the folks I tagged in the OP may also be interested.

One of my sons prefers iOS and I've already told him about it. I can't guarantee that he'd use it all the time but you can add at least one more to the list. :)

The other thought I have is this; if @ferius
is willing to put up a code repository and push the code there - after sanitizing it and removing the hard coded API endpoints and API keys, then the community could port it over to iOS. By removing the API endpoints and keys, it would’t be readily available to connect with the upstream data sources until manually configured by the user after the app is compiled and published.

I am about to order the AVINUSA replacement nav screen for my car. It runs Android and lets you still use your main Nav computer and screen, and switch over to the Android side and back.

FYI there are lots of companies selling these Android car computers out of China, but their support after sale is terrible. For that reason, I’m going with AVINUSA as they import from China, but operate and ship from Southern California. They have a phone number for local support during the week, and appear to actually answer inquiries and provide access to the Android images for the devices should you need to reformat and reimage. The word on the other direct-from-china sellers is that they don’t have the images available and don’t respond if you ask for it after your purchase.

Here's a longer review / demo of the replacement AVINUSA 2nd gen unit for the F3x series BMWs as a reference.

I dont completety wish to speak for others, but i know some people that enjoy driving high speeds for long distance time records, and they would perhaps show interest.

I'd love it as well. It looks like a great Android app, and I'd love to use it on my iPhone, without having to bring a second phone running Android. :)

No Love for the G37

Your vehicle (Infinity G37) radio appears to be simpler, and this is a good thing. It gives you a lot of choice in what aftermarket head unit / nav unit you can install. It looks like there are dash kits from Metra & Scosche available to support installing a replacement single DIN or Double DIN aftermarket radio.

Then you can install any Android based single DIN or double-din unit. A single DIN may have a screen that pops out and stands up, while a double din may have a 7in screen. I've even seen some newer double din units where the screen is mounted about 2 inches out from the front of the surface of the radio, allowing it to be pivoted left and right and adjusted up and down. This also allows them to use even bigger screens since the screen is located outside the space of the double-din.
