IIRC Maryland is one of those "Must be announced" Speed Trap and Speed Enforcement States. I was listening to the local radio station and one of the morning show guys was reading right from the local newspaper where the Speed Traps were going to be working that day (and they still catch local speeders). I think they have to post the fixed Photo Radar locations also on a .gov or .local website also.

Maryland is also a "No Touch" cellphone state. Better have a BT because one can't be handling a cell phone while driving.
In Maryland, they post all of the locations where speed cameras may be located. There are perhaps 10 times as many locations listed as there are actual cameras in service. Most of the cameras are portable, and are moved from location to location every few weeks. It's a damnable shell game.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??
I worked up there for a year in that area. Those cameras suck!!! The tall building behind the White Flint Metro.

Are these the same MRCT cameras that are in Chicago and NYC?

Guys, are these MD camera locations static or do they move them every day?

WOW, it seems like they'd have to have a small army moving all that stuff....

Best friend moved to MD a while back (Navy), and he was telling me all the laws and stuff. I'm like this is total BS coming from FL where we both grew up...

@omgboost at highway “speeds” will the RCM give enough notice to slow down?

I drive through MD often. When I see the speed signs I usually keep it 9 over PSL.

It should be enough. In NYC I'm getting consistent ~7-800 ft Mrct detections. That would give you at least 5 seconds reaction time at highway speeds

All the speed traps in the work zones on the highway are poliscan I believe and they are pretty easy to spot. They have to post two sets of signs before the actual trap. The first just notifies you of a speed enforcement zone and the second is supposed to be an electronic speed sign (often not working). If you miss those the units are always mounted to the front of a white Jeep that’s parked by a porta potty at the end of a jersey wall. Pretty easy to spot.
