Haven't seen one yet... those wheels though, so easy to pick them out.

I don't like the patrol cars with the normal North Carolina plates. At least with the yellow plates, you know it's some type of government vehicle.

Those are wheel covers, unique to the AWD models. The RWD models, like mine, have 5-spoke wheel covers.

No quite the same but interesting none the less; saw a totally unmarked Charger AWD with a SHP-xxxx plate today.
As I got closer I saw the rear Ka antenna, then the front, then the uniformed cop inside through the tinted windows.
No antennas or lights visible at all.

No black disc on the trunk?

I'm not following, can you explain?

No 800 MHz antennas visible at all.

Just to expedite conversation, I know my Chargers having driven them for a couple of years.

I wonder how they're communicating
If a disc isnt on the trunk there had to be something to send out radio waves

I've read before that an antenna inside the car can be enough.

I caught it because of the AWD hubcaps and the SHP plate. It was in Asheville on I-26 between exit 40 and 44 at which point it exited.

Most likely. There are a few models on that site that would have worked. Patches, interior back deck, inside bumper mounted, etc.

For the last 20 years theyve had the mount on the roof for reception
So now we're fighting hidden antennas
Theres literally no way to know its a cop unless you slow down and physically inspect his interior cabin

I could not see the Ka antenna with the dark end cap through the tint until I was 10 feet away... No radar at the time either.

--- DOUBLEPOST MERGED ---

One thing you can generally count on; if it has darker than 35% legal tint on a Charger or Taurus, it's probably a cop.

Yep if I see a car with illegal tint (for mortals), I’m giving a nice inspection before I blast by it.

Yeah, seems kind of dumb. Just buy an unmarked charger. I’m sure it makes them feel better. Then they black out the windows, wheels. I’m glad they don’t do too many of the Ford Explorers. All those thang things look the same.
