firmware 1.5 is out for the max360c
How were you aware of update...nothing on ER Forum?firmware 1.5 is out for the max360c
Vortex which detector you liking better the 360 or 360c now? Other than cosmetic changes and wifi...not sure how the arrows being spread out and bigger is any better? Thanks for the heads up. I just updated and can confirm 1.5. I have no idea what this is about either. Hopefully it's the lockup bug fix.
btw, I edited your thread title to be more specific instead of just "Max360 c" so that people are clear that this thread is in reference to the new firmware update. I've also deleted the other thread since you posted this in two separate sections. This section is more appropriate. Thanks!

Not sure. Thinking aloud for a moment... I prefer an all-black detector like the 360, but a slightly smaller detector like the 360c is welcome in my Miata. The arrows on the 360 are brighter than the arrows on the c which helps in direct sunlight. Ka segmentation is groovy, but it doesn't affect performance on the Max's. The K band segmentation isn't set up to be useful for here in the US. That just leaves the WiFi. It is nice being able to update over WiFi right now primarily because the update software is currently Windows only so it's literally the only way Mac users can update without running Windows. I do plan on putting a 360c in my wife's car in place of the XP. I run her detector with Ka and Laser only. The 360c will add arrows which'll be nice for her. I'm also hoping that she'll be able to update her detector when she starts her car in the morning and so I won't have to bring her detector inside for firmware and RLC updates. One less thing for me to do.
Ultimately though, I still don't see a huge difference between the two. Escort just dropped the 360c to $649 and the 360 to $499 on their website and I really don't think the WiFi is worth the $250 premium. It's hard to make a case for the 360c when you can always just use the 360 and connect to Escort Live over Bluetooth. It's not like firmware updates are released that often in the first place and when you're connected to Live, you get the latest RLC alerts either way so...
What happens if she drives off in the middle of the update?

X2, Ive said it on the day of release of the C model of: Whats the point??? Not as if operating firmware is being adjusted on the fly or on a daily or even weekly basis. If so, it would make total sense. I suspect that this is the last firmware update you'll see for a few years or more. Heck, they cant even get out the Max 1 or 2 IVT updates and thats been 5 years in the running now.. She now sports a V1 with V1 Driver, so she's all good. My son still sports the 9500iX as does the daughter (Pearl one with pink stripe), so we're still primarily an ER family, cept for me who's gone to the Uniden Dark side the past year with the R series.Maybe a colored 9500ix like your wife uses (used?) I could cover it in protective rubber too to make it extra colorful. Plus, bonus, if he destroys it, it's not a huge deal.![]()

Sorry I am not too bright....I want to be sure....Updated to 1.5.
Had my first ever lockup. I was using Escort Live and it altered me to a Ka and showed it was 4500ft away. It stayed at 4500 for a few miles.
It unlocked instantly when I closed the Escort Live app on my phone (Android)

Not sure why I chose to close it. Had been running EL and Waze for almost 4 hours. Toward the end of my trip I got a "Continuous Ka" alert (or something like that). Showed distance target but it never changed. Once I closed EL, the Ka alert went away and immediately started do its thing. (Never power cycled)It's interesting that it unlocked when you closed Escort Live. I believe many of the other detectors that locked up were being run without EL, and didn't unlock until they were power cycled.
