BTW guys MRCD is scary. Think about this. Construction zone and MRCD pickup truck looking like one of those construction workers pickup. 45mph speed limit with $345 fine minimum (in illinois) and everyone doing 60mph.
Thanks, driving to a job in IL next week.
Good to know or are you just thinking ahead?

The LRD/DFR series has an excellent K filter that basically matches my V1. The V1's Junk-K Fighter is pretty damn good, maybe the best other than the Radenso Pro M. The RP-M has been shown to partially filter one type of K gun pretty heavily though, so I think their edge in filtering was done at the cost of some performance.

The above isn't to create a debate amongst various units, but all of the units are basically pretty good on K with really good K filters. The thing is, none of them perform on K like the R does in either on or off axis. It's on a whole new level of sensitivity that can almost be annoying. It also doesn't seem like their K filter significantly hurts off axis K performance - essentially putting blinders on the unit to help it not see cars a few lanes over.

Obviously Uniden can make a really quiet unit based on the DFR series. The R though is extremely sensitive and struggles with the vehicles that other units do. Even the Max 360 which also has an amazing K filter now struggles with these same vehicles unless you throw it in auto mode. The thing about the 360 is it's known to have meh off axis performance by design so that helps keep it quiet.

So I don't think this is an easy fix or something left incomplete by Uniden. I think with the R you get the best all around performance on K available while getting the best possible/safest BSM filtration that can come with this level of performance. It's the nature of the beast.

If MRCD is primarily stationary, then it will be marked on WAZE, maybe

Seriously. I lone my R3, but I literally just shut it off on the highway today. Lots of traffic, and going under PSL, but man it was non-stop... They've gotta do something about it, it's killing what this thing could be..

Since you have the R3, until filtering improves, I'd suggest taking advantage of Quiet Ride .. Set at 30mph. In traffic (slow moving, or stopped), your R3 will behave around BSM.

Lol yeah I gave that on, but by traffic I meant 5 lanes of zombies doing 65, so I wasn't speeding ha.

Gotcha. Yeah, we're kinda screwed in that area .. At least for now. Uniden has been good to us, so far. I too am keeping the faith that BSM filtering will improve with future updates.

I hope so, but I may end up just getting a Pro-M, range is nice, but it's awesome on the Pro-M too, but it shuts up every once in a while lolol.

I literally passed a cop shooting K over PSL because it false so much I don't hear it half the time anymore.. Not bueno man.

They occasionally have speed photo enforcement vans in construction zones but they are always marked with a sign in advance.

No bud. IL don't have MRCD yet. I'm just thinking ahead. I drove threw constructions and was doing 45mph and literally everyone else was doing 60mph. I thought about MRCD then. Minimum ticket is $345 and with photo just like
RLC they can just send ticket in the mail to multiple offenders.

IME you're more likely to run into a K band drone than a speedcam. And there is no way to filter those out.

Try it you'll like it ... Pro M is TINY TINY ... has saved my @ss many times.

Since the CAS Semi K False issue and averaged freq display ...

THE RADENSO got forgotten about their AWESOOOOOME OFF-AXIS and Long Distance attributes that originally beat the KA KING REDLINE-O !! (( as the RPSE unit). Albeit my R3 does get on par or better off-axis and even greater distances. My ProM is getting serious driving time in the worktruck

Month and half of running R3 and 2 weeks so far with my ProM. ProM just plain shuts up after a quick blip or no blip False. The MRCD on Low will rarely false but its short. MRCD on High is nary a False.
[email protected] Quiet .. almost too quiet.
I love the Fact the display is instantly legible clock and mph all the way actoss the truck on passenger side. My R3 ... meh. Gotta look and look hard to determine speed and alerts thru the colorful display. My R3 looks great but i feel my ProM is more Real World in legible and trust the alerts.

My wifey wants to trade in her Civic for a CR-V, she likes seeing what's happening ahead and it gives her confidence.

You should push her towards the new Edge ST coming out... She will be very happy...

I wish they would work on the k filter algo and they may but i think first we'll get a small k narrow like Radenso did

Except Uniden likes choice so we all hope they do the right thing and make it adjustable

The Redline Ex segs are too short
Id never use a setting that turned off above 24.175

Even just above 24.195 would kill the Acuras and pacificas
But GM is here to stay

Also i wouldn't want them changing the filter that it interferes with detection of low power guns

Coming from an escort that didn’t have a K filter, I think the Uniden K filter is pretty good the way it is. Running scan display, I can definitely see the heartbeat pausing Indicating some type of filtering and analysis is going on. Maybe Uniden can display “BSM” on the OLED screen when it is filtering. I’d dig that.

I have gotten BSMs in the 24.199 range.

Going back to the original post I have to agree. It seems that the number of models with BSM which is not filtered out by the R3 is increasing IMHO.

One day on the way home from work I was behind a CR-V and an MDX and the heartbeat actually stopped. I guess that means it was in cardiac arrest! Honda/Acura BSM systems seem to be much more of an issue than GMs for my R1. I don't know if it's because more Honda/Acura owners are opting for BSMs or they are using systems that pollute more.

I’ve had it flat line for about 2-3 seconds while filtering before beating again. It’s bad on a 2-lane country road for 15 miles behind a CRV.
