Comprehensive R1/R3/R7 Scan Cycle Times for Various Settings

I did some tests on my R3, firmware version 1.54 and the numbers I get aren't what I would expect from the charts in the first post, actually they are much better. Did they speed things up with later firmware? Change how the heartbeat icon works?

Settings for test:
X off
Laser on
MRCD off

City
K wide
K pop off
K filter on
TSF on
K block on

Ka filter off
Ka pop off
Ka 2,4,5,6,8

Recorded video at 120fps, and averaged 10 cycles.
10 complete heartbeat cycles took 139 video frames, 139/120=1.1583 seconds = .1158 seconds per cycle.

Another test with above settings and K band off:
10 cycles took 123 video frames, 123/120=1.025 seconds=.1025 seconds per cycle.

Third test with K band off and Ka wide:
10 cycles in 178 frames, 178/120=1.4833 seconds=.1483 seconds per cycle.

Since you saw variations in time with changes to settings which match expectations, that leads me to believe the heartbeat is in fact still indicating scan time and hasn’t been changed to blink at a standard rate. Interesting results! Thanks for testing!

Weird that my times are right around 1/2 of what would be expected. I've triple checked my work. Seems unlikely they doubled the speed of the scan with new firmware. Maybe the heartbeat is two beats per cycle now?

Yes they severely improved the Latter Firmware !!!

It does seem to jive with the double theory, almost exactly half. Who really knows how many cycles per beat it is/was set at. I do know that the R's always seem to me to be quicker than what the original scan time test shows... your results @rwsmith123 seem more inline with my observations.
