Just wanted to show what I did for my install. It doesn't look like a detector, it's discrete and unobtrusive in it's own way. I was planning on putting a sticker to hide the wire, but never got a round to it. The bracket that I used was an old LI mount with the T section removed.

Nicely done. The antenna is smaller than it looks in pictures (just over 4" tall) and so I think that this sort of install is going to more popular than expected.

Basically the same thing I did. It's really unnoticeable. I drilled and threaded my mirror stalk, so there's minimal bracket too. I spoke to Cliff during the install and he said the wire direction did not matter. Actually, I remember the X-band patches being on the wire side, so if there's any interference from tinting, it's to X which is disabled anyway.

There is no interference. It's a simple mount using a cut and shaped LI bracket for the front and rear install.

I agree. I think we are going to see it more than you would think.

Here's mine. Suction cups as a temp setup. My only issue with this setup is the mirror has a light sensor that dims both the rearview mirror and driver side mirror at dark to cut down on the glare. The antenna is blocking the sensor, so both mirrors are really dark all the time. I've got to find a way to either disable it or just move the antenna to the other side.

I think we all have come to the conclusion when we spend this much, we want to max it out. :D You just can't beat physics. Low and/or behind the bumper is just going to cut the performance of any RD $500 or $4,000. I just wish we could do landscape for mounting. It would make it so much easier on my vehicle.

So... uh... when you buying one PC?

We all know you're going to end up with a juiced unit. :p

Its going to happen. Now it's just a matter of when is beta over?? ;) Once there's some scale to this, I wiill have to jump in. I was ready months ago until I learned of new parking sensors in April and some other things on the horizon.

Does the antenna have to be vertical? Also being a patch antenna, does it affect it being slightly askew? Or does it have to be perpendicular to the road/plane of travel

The antenna can be mounted horizontally, but when tested last year the vertical orientation (wire down) gave the best performance for the high powered radars used here. It will work horizontally and from what testing showed a year ago I was told, it was .5 - 5sec off. So it's not like we are talking 15-20sec.

With the cable more to the bottom right or bottom left will be the best installation for the MRCD & MRCT and is a definite no for here as the performance was not good.

Me...? Tossing my VIP! Heck no! The fact that it showed what it was like to have a quiet to K false (BSM & all) with high performance detection, made me sell my beloved STIRO. That itself wasn't an easy decision, but the Stinger is just that good.
