No 33.8 Ka confirmed within YEG limits. Everyone needs to chill out. I nor entire CACTG team havent seen legit 33.8 in Alberta since I got here back in 2014. The only area where you can find 33.8 is military base on the north side of Edmonton and couple extreme rural town in SE Alberta apparently.

Also you ll get random 35.5 on gateway blvd just before MKT. Again false. Only 34.7 legit hits.
Dont worry.

I will try tomorrow morning to see what's what, I encountered other your speed signs and they all showed K band, maybe there was a sneaky copper but I truly couldn't see him, it started from top of the hill downwards and stopped as I passed the speed sign. Hmmmm

The pro m Ka sensitivity is pretty strong in urban areas where signals can bounce. I’ve had instances where I picked up Ka up on 100ave/109str west of the petro Canada and he was down across the river sitting on James MacDonald bridge.

Thanks actually pretty strong if that is indeed the case. Like the the cop would be facing either north or south bound because they are operating laser at the end of the Mac bridge and not using ka. So they left ka on his their parked cars

That area is lower elevation than 109st by the petro can

So serious off axis, lower elevation and lots tall buildings, apartments, tunnels, trees, etc

Up above it was more like a Ka sniff. They don’t really use Ka downtown like that so it was weird.

Didn’t get an actual lock until I was in the tunnel facing the truck that was pointing west.

Beaumont photo enforcement added a new photolidar device to their inventory along LTI Truspeed n LTI Truspeed S!
Just got shot close range with DETCam.
TMG owners in YEG area just cant get a break.
My suggestion to those who run TMGs is to not speed as TMG is prone to IPT/PT vs Leo Grade LTI TS, TSS n DET guns.
Stay safe boys.
Will upload video of encounter with UC DETCam PR trucks soon.

Got nailed yesterday on HWY-216 going west, right before exit 31 to St. Albert. Three trucks on the side of the road, probably using LDAR. Uniden R3 didn't have a clue.

Yes, EPS mostly uses lidar when doing speed traps.
R3 is one of the worst detectors when it comes to lidar detection. Uniden was really cheap on this hardware part (lidar receiver sensor).

I even saw them on the side of the road and knew it was them, but I had to make a run for the exit. What other model of detector would you recommend for LIDAR?

There is no radar detector that can save you against lidar. It will only alert you you have been tagged and pull over is imminent.
You need to go down the laser jammer route ie. AL Priority. 2000+ dollars investment.

Will Theia offer any respite as well?

Physical.... Theia is a windshield mounted radar detector. Unless you think
It can bend light..... It is what it is.
So it's down to buying ALP then. Got new vehicle ahead of schedule and will now scour the earth for a decent priced ALP. Theia seems some months away yet. Cheers

Watch the classified section here, some great deals from time to time. Also local Kijiji, but not as common.

With that said, consider how you drive - it could well be that even at full pop, ALP pays for itself very very quickly. “What’s a license worth?” is what I asked myself in the beginning.

Good luck.
