thats not a Ford Interceptor package that is a Motorola police package for the Ford Interceptor and most of the technology in that car is not even used by Police departments so most of that stuff is just for show.

Should've kept the Vic. Tougher, durable. Easy to repair. Far as I know, the new FPI's have twin-turbo sixes.... I wonder how much it costs to have those engines and frames repaired (it's also FWD, mind you)?

Still pissed they didn't make an SVT version of the Vic, I would've bought it (no, the Mercury Marauder doesn't count)

All of our new Taurus PC are just slightly souped up N/A V6 (3.7). They can't keep what Ford no longer produces (crown Vic)

And it's worth pointing out that for the police version, both the NA and turbo cars are offered with an AWD option.

So departments can choose if they are okay with FWD or not.

The rest of the arguments about the increased cost of the unibody and more complex drivetrain to repair are probably true. But keep in mind there's a cost to keeping around the 14mpg crown Vic's as well. They are a classic and built like a tank, but I think it's time to move on.

Back when Chevy offered a police version of the Camaro it was said that cops loved them, but police chiefs hated them.

I love my S H O........! What can I say? Way better than the Crown Vic.....the car is huge...believe me, I owned 2 Crown Vics...... The AWD v6 Echoboost Twin Turbo is available for fleet use, but most just get the FWD v6...........
