to POP or not to POP, this is the question.

So, my 9500ix has the option for POP on or off. Default is off. What is the benefit of having POP on?
From what I have read POP is not very accurate and not often used, is this the case?

It says that pop is used in west palm beach. So depending on your location you very possibly could turn it off.

It will slow down your detector, increase false alerts, become annoying. Leave it off.

IIRC, FL MPH guns are not POP enabled.

Leave it off as it will reduce your sweeps on 34.7 and 35.5. Pop is over scanning 33.8 and unless all you have for a threat in your area is 33.8 then leave it off.

Not to mention POP mode on M4 platform detectors seems to dramatically increase getting false alerts from Cobras and such.

If you had a V1 or MAX and lived in a POP-capable area, I might suggest trying it on for a bit to see if you can live with it, but otherwise, you're sacrificing your protection and alertness to far more dangerous threats for the extremely unlikely event that a police officer around your area is equipped with a POP gun and is using it in that mode.
