Wow it does not even have a screen you got audio and that was it !!! That is a little before my time my Cobra in 1998 at least had some lights to indicate band and signal strength.

Bands, :mmmsmug: Haha, I did a search and found it was from 1985. Back in 1985 I would be willing to bet it was still X Band, maybe, but I doubt it K band.
Back then the radar unit used to hang outside the patrol car so it didn't cook the operator.

So in this search I found a great article about how people felt about Radar and Detectors in 1985 as well as this ad.. http://www.nytimes.com/1985/08/24/business/the-boom-in-radar-detectors.html

All Whistlers were dual bands (X and K) from 79 to late 80's when Ka came out. The Whistler 5 used the same antenna as the Spectrum/Q2000 models.
