So night starting to really dig into some of these cameras and formats I have found that MOV is a pain in the butt if your not running a MAC in general. It seems to have the highest video quality but difficult to merge and the file size is much bigger. I left work last night while a 120mb file was converting..still. I found that a 20mb MOV file converts to a 5mb AVI, so size and storage would be a big difference.
Also keep in mind that the majority of people out there have trouble reading a forum, so getting them to download and manipulate files from a DVR may be a challenge. Part of this is what would be easiest for the masses too.
So the question today is:
What format do you prefer?
