I tabulated the results of this test just for fun on a spreadsheet. Here I what I came up with. Enjoy:

I never understood why in these test they put segmented Escort and Bel units in the test but no segmented V1 's?

Isn't someone curious to compare, why is it excluded?

Running out of time. It certainly is something on my list, but we just run out of time to do things. :(

It tends to be extremely time consuming just to test the RD's in default settings (2 days for 10 RD's), adding special setting would take many day for a full comprehensive test.

There needs to be top dog tests and full tests.

Profiles can be prepared in advance days before the test, besides it only takes 5 minutes any more...

Seems it does pretty outstanding considering it's not even swept scanning the full band.

Now that I have V1c, this is more likely to happen. Another thing I want to test is running multiple radar detectors to see if it harms performance and if so, by how much.

Not entirely true. My V1s (the 3.893 with two 35.5 sweeps) and one of the 3.892s, were segmented. To the best of my knowledge none of the other V1 owners at the test event had the V1C. That is the only reason theirs were not segmented.

And BTW, the V1 (3.892) that was a turd on K band was mine and it had the custom sweeps.

IIRC, at leasts some of the other V1s at the test event also had their custom sweeps enabled, though they may not have the specific sweeps listed on the chart. Their owners can chime in with specifics if they want to.

Yeah I'm another vote for a properly segmented V1 but it would almost certainly have to be done with V1C and YaV1 because profiles can changed in about 5-10 seconds. I'm not sure where the testing occurs but if I can I'll either turn up myself or donate equipment.

Since it takes so much time to do it all, maybe test in areas that never get tested rather than duplicate what's already been done.

Would be fun to be there... We ave shorter days right now.

We're in southern WI typically. You guys could caravan up here together for the next meet.

Or come to GLR 2014 and we'll do a mini-meet before or after.

I had mine with me, BUT we simply ran out of time (and the rain didn't help) to re-run all of the available units. Thus, mine was NOT tested and it was the V1C LE for ios.

The more the merrier!!! We've go the "gold van" all ready to run units (we'll just park her and go about our business of testing). I am game this late winter/early spring if you guys are?? We need someone to man "goldie" so that we can do some long range IO testing too!!

I'm game as soon as it stops being Wisconsin outside. Or we can do it elsewhere, I haven't done a road trip recently...

Edit: Your sig just keeps growing! Maybe start harvesting the growth and sell/trade for more countermeasures? :p

Sorry to ask, but I searched the entire thread for the answer to this and couldn't find it: Was Ka Guard "off' or "on" on the Valentines? "POP" on or off? Thanks

When they speak of a V1C vs V1, it implies they were using sweeps.

Sweeps require euro mode.

Euro mode means Ka guard is "always off" and pop is always on.

If YaV1 is being used, k-pop can be turned off though.

However I do commonly see in tests the sweeps used are not documented nor are the band's used when concerning the V1.

It's hard to know if the V1 was using what mode or even if sweeps were engaged without spelling it out...
