What's the primary difference between iX Ci and Max Ci 360?

I'm a current user with Radenso RC-M + ALP set up.
I'm about to pick up another vehicle and for this one, I was considering getting Escort's remote system.
I noticed that they offer two models:
iX Ci and Max Ci 360.

I couldn't find much information on Escort's website.
Does anyone know what the differences between two systems?

Thank you in advance.

Max Ci has a better RD platform so it should offer longer range and better BSM filtering. The display is also better, plus it’s RDD immune if that’s important.

I wouldn't get either one. The Max Ci 360 is the "better" of the two but it's basically dead as far as I can tell: https://www.rdforum.org/threads/82894/page-2#post-1276367

I found an issue with BSM falsing in March of 2019. Did a test on June 1, 2019 to confirm that it could not be fixed by moving the rear sensor up. On this date, my installer contacted Escort with their findings. After not hearing from them for a few months, I asked them directly in November of the same year. So far, they still haven't even just given me a way to disable the rear sensor on K band (thus losing my arrows for that band, which I'd honestly be okay with). So far, zero status updates and zero fixes.

Don't give these people thousands of dollars for a dead end product that they won't even provide basic support for.

Indeed. Though at this point I don’t know if I would recommend either at the moment. There hasn’t been any improvement to either since it came out other than this recent laser shifter update that half of us can’t install. The “better” BSM filtering was good for its time but now significantly pales in comparison to the recent generations of windshield Mount detectors. And while the Max Ci looks like a classic Max on steroids, Escort has completely abandoned that whole strategy (FPGA+MCU) and gone to the RL360c style SDR + Blackfin DSP strategy for their newest detectors that are actually getting any BSM updates.

To me it’s a big investment to custom install a detector at this price and to rip it out later.

wow. interesting perspective and feedback.
I love my RC-M. and it's got some great pluses. and ALP integration was one of the primary reasons I got RC-M. (100% I wanted ALP for lidar jamming). however, the single interface integration was, at best, meh.... and I REALLY miss the auto-learn feature of Escorts.

now with this feedback, I gotta do some more research at least...

in your opinion, how does Max Ci compare to RC-M?
I'm all in for remote system. that leaves me very little choices...

I would also recommend sticking with the RCM if you're going to go with a remote. I also had a lot of k band falsing from my rear antenna with my Ci system that Escort wasn't able to resolve. Their solution was to either unplug the rear antenna, or unplug the vehicle's BSM system. Not exactly a great engineering solution to a problem. I think we've all had a similar experience with Escort with these systems. Once Escort sells you the system, you're on your own. With the lack of support we've all received from them, I can't see myself buying another Escort remote system. The performance of the system was good, but nothing stunning.

The RCM system has a lot more flexibility with its settings and overall, a better option right now. Good luck with your decision.

I love remote RDs, and I've only owned remote RDs. I don't like things cluttering the windshield and I like the "clean" look. I also liked the fact that they wouldn't be a theft target when I got my first one, although this is kind of a strange argument to be making now that I have an expensive dashcam on the windshield anyway. But there aren't too many things I've bought related to CMs that I have severe buyers remorse over and the Max Ci 360 Platform is one of them. And despite liking not cluttering the windshield, I'll probably buy a WS mount unit next. It's honestly so much cheaper to purchase and install and, even more importantly, much easier to upgrade when something else better comes out. When Theia comes out, I'm seriously thinking of getting it and if Radenso or someone else releases something even better, it's very simple to upgrade.

For laser jammers, I'll run cables through the firewall and into the back door of my vehicle, but that's out of necessity. This is simply not necessary for RADAR detectors.

it's the same sentiment here as well.
I've owned remote systems for last 20+ years.
primarily because I live in Virginia. :) but I prefer the clean look without clutter on windshield as well.

I'm now leaning towards staying with RC-M school, rather than going back to Escort with my next car.
I suspect that remote version of Theia will be at least a few years out. Once Theia-remote comes out, I'd have to replace them all.

This is how I feel too. It’s lucky that the LIDAR jammer market is a lot more stable and each product tends to offer meaningful updates. I’m okay with remote mounting an ALP.
But the radar side especially recently is not the same as how it used to be. Virtually everyone dramatically improves a new model within the lifespan of a car, multiple times. Back in the days when the 9500ci survived 5+ years and there wasn’t much better competition to it, sure. But these days the better choices are all WS mounts and they are very easy to upgrade especially once you have a hardwire.

I don’t think I’m going to go the remote RD route anymore either. It was a much better idea in theory. I think I got a lot of bang for the buck out off it because I was one of the first 200 with the Max 360Ci and back then it was the best unit you could buy For range and filtering. Certainly not the case anymore.

Disclaimer, my first detector was an Escort in 1983. That being said, their business model has since mutated from industry-leading support to half-baked product support which ceases when a new unit is released. The Max360C is now being discounted by $50.00 off its original price, the Maxcam is $850.00 without sales tax and the Redline 360C is unavailable until further notice. Customer service phone lines now open at 10:00 AM instead of 9:00 AM. Yes there is a chip shortage, however, users on this forum are reporting substantive issues with the Maxcam. It would be prudent to evaluate all factors prior to making a purchase decision.

Ironic that all three of us have buyers remorse over the Ci system. I still use an STiR+ that has never given me a single problem. It would still be a great detector if it had k band filtering. I've had 4 remote systems and the Ci will be my last one from Escort. The issues that we all had getting ANY type of assistance from Escort left a bad taste in my mouth. Expensive lesson learned.

The systems really aren't that different regarding performance and the one BIG advantage of Radenso is they're very responsive with customer service. All of us that have posted about the Ci had just about nonexistent assistance from Escort. It was a very disappointing experience.
