I have Pop filter going off on a regular basis. Sure I can tell my detector to learn and not report it for that area but it's a little annoying. Do you think it is am OK move to disable Pop filter on my detector? Based on some videos it's an old way of detecting that most officers don't use anymore.

What detector? Some false a lot with POP On. You can probably turn if Off if they aren't caused from real LEO radar alerts.

I actually have mine On with Uniden R's and of course V1G2 (no Off option) but I also don't get falses and sometime travel areas that "could" be an issue even though unlikely. Depends on what is used in your area, most people turn if Off.

As @TurboDriver says. I am not aware of any state using pop. HOWEVER I COULD BE WRONG.
I would turn it off unless you can confirm your state or town uses it.

POP was big when it 1st came out then came its problems. I believe MPH put out a notice and updated their owners manual on the Bee III to state that it should not be used for citations unless there were additional tracking measures employed..

I doubt it's being used much anymore. Maybe in some very small departments that got hand me down units when other/larger departments got rid of them and for some reason they are still using POP...

They don't seem to use pop radar in Pennsylvania.
I believe Pennsylvania is only K band as of current times, might eventually change but not yet... POP as we normally think of it would be Ka. There is K POP but even more rare.

I do know though, just because some manufacturer tells someone they shouldn't do something, it doesn't mean they'll comply 🤨.

I get POP alerts from sheriff's and local cops. For some reason they run both POP and Ka at the same time.

Whenever I see both of those together I know I'm about to spot a cop

Many detectors will issue POP alerts for quick instant on bursts. Escorts in particular are notorious for doing that. No radar detector on the market can tell you for sure that they used POP

I turned my Pop back on. It seems my Max 3 is learning false alerts automatically (as it should) as when I went to an area where it went off previously, it's now quiet.

Unless POP is used in your area turn it off. All it will do is cause false alerts and make you wonder. Here is a great article about it from a trusted source.

I use POP. Yes I do get false alerts but I know when there's LEO because POP is always followed by a Ka burst. I only wish my r360c would tell me which direction POP Was coming from instead of flashing like a Christmas tree

And since you are apparently in one of the very very very few locations in the country where it is used leaving it on will serve you well. As far as the arrows, the POP burst might be too fast for the arrows to even function. In a true POP encounter I don't think the arrows would even be able to assist you because you are already in line of sight with the officer. At that point he can smoke you with what ever he has. (POP, K, KA,Laser)

I seriously doubt that anyone is facing POP threats at that level. The more likely explanation is that the detector is incorrectly identifying the alert as POP. POP is not used in my location at all, yet if I turn on POP, I get false POP notifications all the time.

The last time I saw Pop was in Wisconsin. For some reason they call soft drinks that.

But seriously, Pop should be disabled to cut down on falsing. Manufacturers have said that Pop can't be used to issue citations. So most Leos won't waste their time using it.

They are using it in Iowa however it's against the law to write a ticket using it. But good luck in court with it

I'm not sure I understand that statement. Are you saying they will write you a ticket using pop ?
But don't take it (the pop ticket)to court as you will lose ?

They are not supposed to give you a ticket using pop. The officer is supposed to use pop to get a general idea and then switch to regular radar. But you know cops are not always honest.
