Is there a way of knowing how many users are in my area? Maybe Google Play has the stats based on downloads.

I was in Angus, Ontario and received an alert within 30 seconds. It saved me and I'm not sure if it was from crowdsourcing or a delayed Waze sync. That might be good to know. My detector went off but they turned off their gun after.

When I tried the escort live system, I found that there were not enough local users to make it if any value. It was good to know that there was at least one other user in the area.

Highway radar police alerts are sourced from waze so that has a pretty high userbase most places, the heatmaps and risk score are based off historical waze data so even if there isn't a pin or many waze users around you at that moment if you are in a "hot" area or have a high risk score you are more likely to see a police trap.
