On my Escort IXC and my Max3 I experience a lot of K Band 24.124 Falses. It seems to be worse in different parts of the country and I'm having difficulty tracking down the source. Some of the alerts act like a blast from a traffic flow sensing system. Others are just a few digits on the meter and act more like BSM falses. I've tried locating the source if it is BSMs and can't find a common source like GM or Escalade etc.

My question to other Escort users is do you experience these types of falses and if so have you been able to determine the source?

That's usually a Mazda IME.

I have no seat time with the iXC, but when I had the RL-EX, it would pick up Mazda CX-5’s from a considerable distance away - something like 30+ car lengths away, unlike most other BSM false that would occur in a much closer proximity.

Mazdas seem to run hotter than most. Luckily most are filtered out these days. :)

I was playing around with the settings on the Max 3 yesterday and whatever it is it still punches through on autoLok.

I got so frustrated I just turned k-band off again, and will probably not turn it back on for another year 😂.

Thanks guys for the responses.

The source has been so elusive to me it has me thinking it's possibly coming from my trucks collision avoidance system etc. But I would think if my truck was a source it would not be an intermittent signal rather it would be steady but I'm not so sure.

My question to other Escort users is do you experience these types of falses on 24.124 and if so have you been able to determine the source?
Mazda BSM often transmits on 24.123 GHz.

Yep it's always .123 or .124

Wait a minute, you own a car that's spewing BSMs? OMG 😳

I think Mazda use different K band sensors, depending on market. Here we have CX3 and CX5 with dual 24,250 and 24,150Ghz sensors, 24,250 beeing stronger.
When i use x50 "Euro" with full K band (no seg. on that detector), it was easy on the road....first from long distance i get 24, 24X and i know that a mazda is comming and a few seconds later ...24,15X .
Now i use an x50 "intl" and i toggle K3 off so no more false 24,25x alerts, but the truth is that is harder to tell if that 24,15X that will come is a real one....

Others have noted that it's likely a Mazda CX-5. They reliably cause a 24.123 - 24.124 false on all three of my detectors (V1G2, R3, DFR6).

24.124...that's annoying, the locals in my town run between 24.090 and .125
I'd turn off those segments if I could, but lo, i cannot.

Are you on highway mode or Auto?
Are you on firmware 1.5?

Yes, this is why on R7 International 138 I added the Mazda K Block: 24.123-24.124. It's a very narrow and specific frequency range for the CX-5.

Funny, made me laugh the other day. Testing an R7 in someones new car. Demonstrating his R7 running full wide I pointed out that was a Mazda false. Not realising I was demonstrating in the guys CX-5!

We actually showed that we can disable the setting in the car and the R7 would go quiet. However, he likes the feature on the CX-5 so the R7 has to work around it, but seems to cope pretty well.
