Wow yeah pricey. I was hoping it’d be priced closer to the DS1. Good to see they finally released some info about it either way! It’s been a pretty great detector so far.

Wait, Laser Gun Identification?
Orly? I haven't heard about this feature previously?
Yeah when it picks up laser, it displays which gun you’re getting hit with, ie. ProLaser III, DragonEye, etc. :)

The laser identifier could make a good tool for making a decision on what jammers you need for the threats you face.
Could be foreshadowing that this detector will interface with their rumored parking sensor
systems?
Just spitballing ideas here.

Found this press release out on the web today:
https://www.globenewswire.com/news-...Ext-reme-Long-Range-Radar-Laser-Detector.html
The article lists an MSRP of $560. I was hoping to see it more in the $450 range but I guess we'll see where it lands when they hit the streets. If the range of production units matches @Vortex results, it is probably still a good deal compared to the overpriced escort products.
$560 with NO arrows?! Uniden must be smoking the same stuff them Escort boys be smoking!
Radenso DS1 = $400
Uniden R4 = $560

It's also up against dual horns at that price

Valentine V1G2 = $499
Uniden R7 = $499 (on sale all the time for this price)
Uniden R4 = $560

I guess I am confused by this pricing as it makes no sense to me unless the goal is to not sell many......

If Radenso can keep a steady flow of DS1 units ready to ship then I don't see why anyone would choose to buy the Uniden R4 at that price point other than brand loyalty maybe..

I mean is it better than the R7/R3? Because mine completely sucks at picking up laser. Not that I really care, but still

Problem is that with the current fine structure in BC, it would take an incredible streak of bad luck (like 4 tickets in a calendar year) before I save money over an ALP system. $2k is a lot of money to protect me from the threat of a laser gun that is only used in an area I visit 1x per year max.

I've been in Kelowna for several weeks now and have only seen 1 lidar trap on the HWY on the outskirts.

The only thing I can see that makes it higher price is 2 LNAs and a Bluetooth chip. But, without arrows, I would think closer to $400 since the R3 is $299 on Amazon right now. It has to cost more than the R3, but shouldn't be more than the R7. Add arrows, then that price makes sense.

If you want to cover all possible lasers - yes.

But if all you see in your country is LTI20-20, then a cheaper solution will also work very well.

They could always add a forward arrow to justify the price and say it's a detector with arrow 😂

Still tells you --pull over and get your ticket lol, unless you have jammers!!
I was thinking the same, lol. Sounds like something cobra would be to get you to buy it. Not going to lie I'm kinda sad to see a company like them to pull a trick like this.
