@Louis13, thank you for completing the radar detector recommendation form.

With your budget the Uniden R1 is an excellent choice and can be found for around $199.00. If you're able to stretch it a little further you can get the Uniden R3 for around $255.00. They are both great detectors, but the R3 adds GPS which allows it to remember and mute common false alerts (such as retail store automatic doors) along your regularly driven routes so you never have to listen to the same false alert twice.

given your parameters, the above recommendation is a pretty solid one. As you have mentioned, pairing the RD with a Driver awareness App will give you a decent chance at avoiding the tax man.

The R1 or R3 would also be my choice in the area of your budget. Both the R1 and R3 are great radar detectors IMO.

Got mine yesterday, just finished setting it up a couple of hours ago. Let the good times roll.

I'm still in the process of googling the setup. Is there a bunch of things you have to do.
