Sorry if this is a re-post or obvious question, but is MRCD or MRCT used anywhere in Texas? I've seen mixed info on the matter, some say it's in places around Dallas, but it's not super clear. Just wondering if I should enable the detection or not.

I'm in the North Texas area with frequent travel over the DFW area.

(Noted Dallas was mentioned on Vortex's setup guide: https://www.vortexradar.com/2020/07/how-to-setup-escort-redline-360c-radar-detector/)

Many thanks!

No idea whatsoever, but what I can say, from what I read on these posts, is that mrcd seems to be getting more common and is spreading south.

It was before I got the RL360c, but earlier this year I was heading southbound on hwy 75 and right at the Collin county border, where the limit drops from 75 (think down to 65)...they had a device set up. It was suspiciously similar to some of these MRCT devices mentioned in that thread...gave me concern. Maybe it was just for traffic flow monitoring, but the location right at the speed drop was troubling.

Not that I've come across and I'm in North Texas as well. North Dallas specifically and travel throughout north Texas a lot.

There is no MRCD/MRCT enforcement in the state of Texas, at least that has any actual force of law. There are a handful of municipalities that still have RLC cameras, and they may send you deceptive letters saying you must pay them money, but you can throw it in the trash.

I knew RLC were gone and made illegal in Texas now…but if that law applied to speed enforcement…I wasn’t sure of.

Today I got another glimpse at that device on the Collin county border on hwy 75...while I don't know what it's doing for certain, there are large lenses in the box that are visible from the road. It's also interesting, Escort live warns it's a speed camera. Be curious to know what they are collecting with those large lenses...seems excessive for just basic traffic data.
