I agree with you assessment of the RL360C.
I took my DP360 out for the 1st time today and it was completely quiet.
I like the DP360, but unfortunately for me, my eyesight is not what it should be and I believe the arrows on the RL360C would be a better fit for me.
I absolutely love the look of the RL360C.
Looks are unfortunately for me a big reason why I might buy something.
The Cobra Road Scout is fugly.
If I could acquire the RL360C for around $500 I'd definitely grab one because of my DP360.
@Lars36, looks and design are a big reason why I buy things too. You are not alone...lol. I definitely like the look and design of the RL360c as well as the V1G2.

I was initially worried the arrows may be too small on the RL360c especially compared to the arrows on the Max360c and V1G2, but I have no problems seeing them.

Unfortunately for me, if it doesn't appeal to my eyes then it's not for me.
I base this on almost everything I buy.
Especially cars.
I build computers on how the case looks, how the motherboard looks, how the memory looks on the motherboard.
I drive myself nuts. OCD.
Reviews, more reviews, then price. OMG has to be just right. LOL

I say yes because it has already saved me from 8x that amount in tickets. Is it perfect? No. Is it the best I can do for now, yes.

Not sure why you would bid on this @ this price unless you're over seas?

I was considering buying along the Max 360c lines.
Was thinking hard about the RL360C.
But Mr Vortex certainly did his job and now I'll do my job by looking around some more, before I open my wallet.
I upgraded my V1, great deal on the R3 AND DP360.
What we NEED is a poll for RL360C owners only to see what they think if they spent their money wisely.
I would absolutely love a poll for RL360C owners only.
Interesting ask. I hardly think it's worth $750 but after trying V1 G2, I stuck with the RL360c. I like the all-in-one packaging offered by the RL360c, multiple display options and GPS location functions. Another factor for me is that I have several M1 cameras which neatly integrate with the RL360c. I have never tried the R7 - at the time I purchased my RL360c/V1 G2, the R7 wasn't good at filtering BSM. Is it better now?

Did I spend wisely? Probably not. But I was unhappy with the V1 G2 anyway!

When it comes to spending wisely, I don’t always do that when it comes to radar detectors (and radar guns), but I am overall satisfied with the RL360c, and it works very well in two of my BSM “offender” vehicles (in terms of my own vehicle causing K-band false alarms) and for my needs and situation.

At the end of the day, you have to choose what works best for you and your needs, and sometimes that means spending more money than you would like to spend....lol.

The RedLine 360c is NOT worth $750 plus tax because it will only work on the old WiFi 2.4 networks that are being removed from service. It worked just fine in my 2017 Impala. I now have a 2021 Cadillac XT5 and I just took delivery of a 2022 BMW X2 that I ordered with WiFi. Both cars use LITE 4.0 networks and the RedLine will show that it's connected to the cars WiFi it shows that it's connected to Escort Live but NO INFO flows to or from the detector. The little box in the left side of the display turns white but no speed info. It will not update in my car, I have to connect it to my computer.
This issue does not effect the radar detection or red light speed cam alerts in anyway. My R7 can do the same thing for $200 to 300 less. Anyone thinking about buying this detector, DON'T and if you did and it's under 30 days SEND IT BACK. Escort has to fix this.

After seeing the K band reactivity video from Vortex I'd say no.
Does this detector do anything exceptionally well?

While I'll be one of the first of us that will crap on anything escort puts out, it does have really monster detections in ideal circumstances. Problem is, a lot of circumstances aren't ideal when trying to detect radar. It definitely falls way short. The price is absolutely absurd. (My opinion of course)

It's not fair to as folks not to buy simply because the WiFi didn't work in your late model vehicles. Some of us don't have 2021 or 2022 models. The RL360 works fine, up to my 2018 F80 M3. Frankly, in my opinion, this whole update-on-the-run with in-vehicle WiFi thing is really a small part of the detector, and I'm not sure the all high end detectors even have this feature. I set mine to update via my home WiFi, and if WiFi updating is really that emergent (which has never happened), I use my personal hotpoint. So the speed display turns white - as long as your speedometer still works....I agree ESCORT needs to address this, but not necessarily that they have to fix this if the original design is based on 2.4 network architecture.

It will work on that 2021 XT too.

O please, don't send it back, please send it to me so I can test it out.
Thanks for your help with this matter 🙏 👍

He will sell it to you for 450. It doesn't have 5Ghz, so it's only worth that much.

It's supposed to work on ALL WiFi networks and it doesn't. The only thing the RedLine has over the R7 is that it's undetectable to RDD's. That is one of the reasons why I purchased it as I go thru VA once or twice a year. If you don't need this feature the R7 is a better buy.

Things the Redline has over the R7:

1. It's stealth (as you've said).

2. It has longer range than the R7.

3. It has superior BSM filtering over the R7.

4. Its auto lock outs work much better and more efficiently than the R7.

5. The update process is easier than the R7.

6. It's easier to change settings than the R7.

7. Its mounting system is superior.

Things the R7 has over the RL360C:

1. It's faster reacting to instant on.

2. It has more customization options in the settings (easier to tune to your liking).

3. It's cheaper.

Whether the R7 is a better buy or not depends on how much you value the advantages one has over the other.

Having said that, I will buy your RL360C for what you perceive its worth is (450.00), then you can pick up an R7 and enjoy all of those great R7 attributes.

Remember that uniden is way more likely to update/fix their products in a timely manner than escort is. I know for a lot of people, that's a deciding factor. Escort is notorious for not fixing major issues with their detectors...Also, there isn't a huge detection difference between the redline and the uniden r series ka detection like some here are claiming...In fact, the escort products are much worse in reactivity, which in turn, can be very dangerous.

I think that's a little one sided and I would like to add my thoughts.
RL360: Range is fractionally better
BSM filtering is worse than R7 properly set up.
Auto and manual lockouts are a dangerous huge nukem approach leaving you very vunerable to K Band threats. R7 is very narrow and specific.
You can't back date firmware or install custom firmwares. R7 can.
MRCD works but is a falsing machine. R7 has excellent MRCD implementation.
MRCT / Gatso total fail for many. R7 works.
Has a sleeping issues, not as bad as Max 360 series. Also strange long delays to alert to K.

R7:
The above plus the display kills any Escort on size, information and visibility in light.
Customizable tones that are more distinct and easier to hear in loud environment.

I already have an R7 and yes the Uniden update system needs an update. I also own an R3 and a V1G2. I don't use the V1 too much because I don't like having to run two apps on my phone at the same time to give me the protection I need. It's a great detector in NJ but not in NY.

With my RL360c I keep the MRCD/CT detection turned off because all of the speed cams in NYC are in the Escort data base and their all in fixed locations. This keeps the detector quiet.

The range is a generation ahead on the RL360C vs. the R7. It's repeatable, it's significant, and it translates to real world encounters. When I used the early example of one, I would have agreed with your statement. But thankfully for Redline owners, Escort has actually updated this unit at a much faster rate than Uniden has the R7, and it's paid off in performance. With the latest firmware, the RL360C is able to impress with range, so much so that the Uniden is left in the dust. Only the V1G2 competes with it.

With regards to the reactivity, YES they need to fix that. It's why I mentioned it, having said that, the Uniden needs to fix their reactivity issue as well (easy clutching those pearls there, Uniden fanboys). When it comes to weaker instant on signals, the reactivity of the Uniden is MUCH slower. Ironically, the RL360C (and V1G2) are faster with these.

Why would you have to run two apps to get the protection you need?
