I’ll have to see how much truth there is to that, still being in Chicago. I split the city going down 90 twice a day; its a joy!If you try hitting it with K band I/O turning KV off makes very little if any difference! That was one of the first things we tried. It will pick up every single BSM for miles however!
@Brainstorm69 did a video with it off, it was a joke! He had to pull over and turn it back on! I figured I could get away with it in my area, WRONG! LMAO!I’ll have to see how much truth there is to that, still being in Chicago. I split the city going down 90 twice a day; its a joy!
I never stopped commuting, but now others are back on the road! Looks like I’ll give KV off a go for the hell of it
I’ve got all the BSM you want but little noise driving with a G2! What’s GPS?
The R7 and RL360C are not slouches. The RL360C is similar to the V1G2 with BSM rejection, the R7 with the latest firmware is very livable as well (I just wish it wasn't so adept at sniffing out door openers)We need more truth around here! Folks, the G2 ain’t perfect, but understand what’s going on for $500 is insane!
I welcome pointing out the negatives (some K I/O stuff) in an informative manner, which only helps improve the experience for everyone - American made firmware upgrades ! Let’s face it, Valentine Research has a kickass track record.
Enough of that, credit where credit is due! Thanks for the testing Rags!!!
And damn, the G2 out-sniffs the R7 again! How’s the G2 do that and filter so well?! The R7 is chatty
I can’t disagree, as it’s fair to say my commute has excessive noise. My drive will make RDs hearts literally stop for seconds… talking to you UnidenThe R7 and RL360C are not slouched. The RL360C is similar to the V1G2 with BSM rejection, the R7 with the latest firmware is very livable as well (I just wish it wasn't so adept at sniffing out door openers)
If I were facing a lot of selective K I/O K band, I would probably choose the R7 then the V1G2. The RL360C wouldn't even be an option in that case IMHO.
If VR fixes the reaction time issue on K band, it would be a no brainer. Same goes for the RL360C (it appears to have the best sensitivity on K band from what I see)
But, but, the G2 has very short K band C/O detection. Did you rig this test!? Maybe it wasn't my imagination that my G2 has done a good job against the K band threats I face? Glad I don't have to face @VariableWave or @Kennyc56 with K band. But in celebration of this testing and the update I'm gonna get faced!
Thanks for the info! I don’t think anyone’s really missed this general note mentioned by many, any chance they get lol.In testing a Group of Detectors (Mid and High Tier Priced/Performance), at this time we were only able to test Two V1G2s (.1018 and .1019), R7, and R3 in this class, in addition to Mid Tier units in another Thread. We ran @Kennyc56 unit in the official recording, as I was recording Kill Zone...www.rdforum.org
All, when @Kennyc56 and I did K band testing, and other bands, see this thread. The V1G2 is not near sighted.... it is the instant response it has against. Face me on this, if I was a LEO treating one as always running a Detector, hutum, lidar, you be 92% screwed. I am not testing you how, but R series, the original V1G1, and Whistler CR series, bests the V1G2 in seeing select K world on 4.1021 and 4.1023 that brought this up.

Doing a Dec Gen II series vs Falcon HR, is night and day. I can clock a car and lock with one gun before the V1G2 even sees it. With K Verifer off, maybe the V1G2 will pull it out of it @ss that oh wait, did I see, beep, then off. This was on 4.1023.... soon to test with now released May 2021.
