Just bought a new WRX and I thought thought I should get the Eyesight Option especially for the Pedestrian Detection and automatic braking. Basically two forward facing cameras control most functionality but when reading the Eyesight manual Subaru does not want you to place anything in the windshield center or on dash center because of "reflections" The first thing I'm going to do is mount my V1G2 on its Blendmount. I have no idea what will happen. Anyone else have a Subaru with this option? What was your experience.

I don't have an WRX but I got a Outback, I personally skipped out on eye-sight and thankfully I did. Leaves way more room up by the RVM. It's a nice thing to have eye-sight but it's more things that can go wrong, and or potentially false. You could do a remote RD which isn't a bad idea.

Perhaps some users on RDF that have eye-sight might be able to shine some light. While this isn't a OB and is a WRX; this might be something you could read through, should apply to the same concept.

Thanks to all.

Thinking of A left for detector and A right for dashcam. First thing I'm going to do is stick it on the windshield right in the middle to see if there are problems. In 2018 a contributor here said he noted no issues with R3 on Blendmount.
I pick up the car Saturday and I'll let everyone know after my experiment.

It'll probably throw a fault code if the cameras detect anything abnormal.

Pickup up my new daily driver 2021 WRX and a bunch of things happened.
1st I contacted Blendmount Tech support and they never heard of anyone having issues with a detector on a Blendmount conflicting with Eyesight.
2nd I had long chats with two Subaru Delivery specialist who spend 90% of their time on tech issues they say. One fellow is a radar detector devotee and he has his own Eyesight equipment car. Said he put the detect near the dash under the mirror. Absolutely no issues. They both told me when Eyesight has trouble it just tells you its not working.
3 on the drive home from the dealer I put the V1G2 on the dash under the mirror on a rubber pad. No issues at all. I then installed the Blendmount and drove a longer distance. Bright sunny day an zero complaint. I have not hard wired the detector and I'll run it for the next couple weeks this way and I'll update this post after.
