WOW!!!! I did not know about this...

I was driving on the 295 near Cherry Hill and saw some random suv in the center median. I thought it was some random township leo stopped but as I got closer I saw the upside-down triangle on the door. Got even closer and it was a trooper!

Brand new Ford Explorer running enforcement with a Stalker DSR2X and running lidar ay the same time. I'll post a vid of this later

Here's some internet shots with it. 10 retro livery cruisers out there and they seem to be an explorers do I assume expect them anywhere except the Turnpike

Saw one a few weeks ago. Was surprised that they copied the Michigan look and that it was a real thing. Saw their twitter post about it afterwards.

I haven't seen a light like that since the small California town in which I attended high school in the early 60's. Don't expect to see it here now 50 yrs later.

What is their rationale for that type of lighting? It can't be to make them appear "retro".

They’ve had that new SUV for about three months now near troop C.I see it on my way to work every day. The new vehicles are cost effective same with the light, comes with a longer warranty. I guess the other lights they had faded out to much or complaints of them being to bright.

The police union allowing less bright lights for their members? Outrageous.

I truly believe those lights cause more accidents than they prevent. Every pullover or minor fender bender has a LEOmobile with 60 billion lights....we have enough distracted drivers as it is and LEOs are providing yet another reason for people to take their eyes off the road. 12/19/2019, there was a minor accident on Route 46 East. Two LEOS, 120 billion lights. Ding dong driver heading west takes his eyes off the road to look, hits the car in front of him which then hits me. It was stucking fupid.....one accident on 46 East, another directly across on Route 46 West. Two more LEOs showed up for the 46 West accident and there were 240 billion lights. And then an ambulance. And a tow truck. Thank goodness for polarized sunglasses.

At night the new style lights are dangerously blinding.
With the old style lights the look like they “are on a mission from god”
Jake and Elwood would appreciate the old style lights
