Here’s a link to a video of the finished product... some reason someone disliked it 😂 anyways

The 2021 Audi RSQ8 is done, tested and reassembled. She Jams To The Gun and Away... Far Far Away Every Time!!! (Dragon Eye Compact with current “anti jamming firmware” annnnnd still gets jammed by this Radenso RCM/ALP system. Now some notes on this install 97% of it was done without affecting the vehicle... meaning that this RSQ8 can go 100% back to factory without leaving a mark on it... the only tiny piece that would be left behind is the front/centre/center TX cover as I permanently adhered it to the grille area... all other components were installed using custom made mounting plates utilizing factory mounting points and 3M’s vehicle manufacturer grade body adhesion tape. On the inside is exactly the same with just 3 minor spots to allow one cable and an LED to be mounted while the control modules/GPS antennas were mounted using factory locations (with 4 additional galvanized screws to help those brackets stay solid in place). The front outer TX sensors are mounted on miniature trays that get bolted in place using factory locations, the front radar sensor is mounted behind the passenger side “black” factory lane detection cover again on a custom bracket mounted to factory bolt locations... the front TX sensor is housed in its own permanently mounted bracket that I made to give access to the TX sensor for easy serviceability buy removing the back plate to allow the sensor to slide back and out. All the rear sensors 2-RX / 1-TX are mounted just under the rear carbon fibre panel... all sensors are behind IRT Acrylic to give the best performance by blocking out any unwanted reflections from any surrounding surfaces. We’ve done many Laser Defences systems for this client over the years ... he requested the display to be hidden away as he’ll listen to the audible/LED prompts from the system so we added the LED into the driver’s side dash vent and the main display into the lower pockets door for ease of access if needing to make any adjustments on the fly.

I know I’m missing a ton of other areas of interest but I’m sure no one will read this far anyways lol 😂 😂😂

The client was dumbfounded when he couldn’t pick out where the sensors were. I’ve done 5 systems for this client Over the past 2.5yrs... this one made him go home to look at the previous installs lol now he’s addicted to IRT covers lol he’s bringing another project in shortly.

Absolutely beautiful install, but I would not have put the control pad there.

Thank you! I try to make each install better than the last ... always trying to stump our clients lol

This client has 5 other vehicles I’ve worked on... he doesn’t want to see the display at all... this way he can still have it in arms reach to turn the system off... I added an LED and he gets the voice prompts to be alerted. I was going to mould the display above the mirror until he said he never looks at it anyways lol 😂. I’ll have to post another video link as I put the LED into the drivers vent.

I’m surprised he even wanted to see the LED ... he’s in his 70’s , killer client to have and had more projects coming.

Sorry, but it drives me nuts when people record in portrait on their phone. Nice install though.
Almost as bad as texting with an Android person in iMessage (iOS users know what mean ;) , the "green bubble")

Probably the portrait mode frustration that stumbled into awful and difficult to follow angles. Doesn’t detract from the beautiful execution of the install, though. My one question is how in the world he’s supposed to JTK like that unless there’s a kill switch somewhere accessible?

We test JTK to make sure it will work 110%... we then set it to a 7 second jam to give clients the time to slow down. Leaving on a JTK or JTG to is just asking for issues ... new firmware will JTK/JTG automatically when there’s a Polyscan in the middle of the road tho ... they’ll notice it’s not a human. Here they have 6 lanes of traffic detection and the ALO will jam them automatically...

7 seconds is an eternity, a crude safety net at best. How will he be killing it manually when it’s not (or is no longer) necessary?

Not understanding your concern? It will jam for 7 seconds and then the laser will get a reading... remember that the ALP system is seeing the laser gun way before the laser gun is seeing the vehicle... the doesn’t need to be shooting the vehicle in mention when the vehicle sees any signal it will alert the driver ... hope that makes sense.

My concern is that you’re poking the bear, in an area known for zealous and well-funded revenuers. If you’re manning a lizard, picking people off consistently with near-instant reads on every vehicle, and then a car comes along a few hundred meters out where you can’t get a reading, can’t get a reading, can’t get a reading, can’t get a reading, can’t get a reading, for a good seven seconds, your eyebrows are going to be raised.

It’s even worse if it was never necessary at all, or if he’s able to drop down in 2 or 3 seconds, as he should always endeavor to do, and he proceeds to continue jamming for 4 or 5 (or 7) seconds with absolutely no benefit in doing so, only downsides.

Even an impressive install in an impressive vehicle like that still has to be operated properly by a person, and letting it routinely jam for 7 seconds is bad juju

I accept your compliments 110%?... 7 seconds is the magic number ... if you’re not living in Alberta CANada I’ll give you a little update ... this province is the most patrolled using laser in all of North America...the actual city:town I live in is a testing ground for highway patrol and school zones etc... we do the settings as we do because we know the enforcement personally... we want to have a 110% guarantee with all our clients so we test EVERY system prior to delivery. We’ve had 0 fault rate because we stand behind Radenso, Alp and our installations. We have a strong clientele and also understand that if there was ever an issue with our work it would tarnish our credibility. No on else in our country offers our guarantee... there’s a reason why clients come to us. We protect them as much as we can.

Which is why it’s even more important for drivers to be disciplined with their CM usage, as I pointed out that we’re talking about “an area known for zealous and well-funded revenuers.”

I haven’t suggested there is an issue with your work, or your guarantee, or whatever other things you’re rightly proud of. I’m suggesting that this customer (and it sounds like most/all customers) is being set up by you to use his CMs in a way that goes against best practices—honed by a lot of black eyes and broken noses and missing teeth, metaphorically speaking. The only thing worse is no kill at all, so at least it’s not that. I’m suggesting you consider changing this one aspect of how you release your customers into the wild. Give them the ability to kill their jammers, explain what a JTK is—killing the jammers as soon as it’s not necessary, aiming for 3 seconds or less—and why it’s important, and encourage them to never rely on an extended automatic kill if they can help it.

You mention 3 seconds is enough to slow down when you’re doing 150-170km/h... do you even think when the officer is shooting you from behind and if you “slam” on your brakes to slow down to 100km/h that the officer will not notice those bright tail lights coming and then in turn will just come after anyways for you admitting your guilt by braking and blocking a laser signal
I’m sure whatever I say you will continue to say I’m wrong. With zero tickets from our many clients and using the recommended setting from the manufacture I guess I’m still stupid. Enjoy your day. Lol

Good quality installs like you do and a 7 second jam time would lead to ticket prevention, sure, but what @Deacon is saying is that if your customers will keep doing that, it will be detrimental long term for both you and your customers once it starts upsetting LEO's and politicians who decide it's time to make laser jammers illegal in Alberta the way they are in most of the rest of Canada.

This has already happened in certain places here in the US and we don't want you to have to experience the same thing.

It would be wise to reduce that jam time somewhat and to do your part in educating customers on the importance of JTK'ing, even doing a manual JTK quicker if/when they can.

Gosh @Vortex you’re some damn polite.

You wonder how many other installers are doing similar.

ALP should probably have a big fat warning every time it starts up if a user sets auto to maybe 4 seconds and above.
