The only thing that changes going Advance to city is sensitivity level.
City is [email protected]%, Advanced is what ever you set them to like K 50%, Highway is always 100%.
So your K Filter, TSF, Quiet Rides etc all stay the same no matter what mode you're in (C,A,H)

You don't have to go into the menu to change City/Adv/Hwy.
Just long press Menu button, then scroll through the 3 settings.
I was not aware that City only changes K band sensitivity. Thanks! That's good to know. I thought that each had independent set of settings.

Another thing I notice from my drive is that BSM will punch through and then the RD will filter it out. I was able to identify the source a couple of times, and it will false without ramp up when I get to the offender and it will just clear our the alert while I'm still in the same spot relative to the bsm offender.

Currently running an R7 with 1.35 as a backup and am decently impressed but the KA range isnt as much as the V1G2

R7 Being run in highway mode . V1G2 Being run in All Bogie with JBV1

Mazdas do set off the V1, Hondas set off the R7. I see more hondas in my area so the R7 is a little more noisy.

I think they are both good detectors V1G2 is worth the money when paired with the App hands down. R7 is overkill for a travel detector but the price was right (got a defective unit that i was able to fix)

It's the G2 at the top - clear as day for me. Doesn't require the hacks against K or crazy amount of settings adjustments to maintain sanity. Or GPS. That's a LOL when trying to imagine a non-enthusiast being expected to navigate a R7 to quiet it down to acceptable levels against BSM. They have to navigate the initialisms and acronyms alone! Seems like it's a no-brainer that one's at the end of the list, unless maybe default settings can be improved for minimal changes???

The lady and I had to dump the Unidens due to our commute & BSM exposure. If I were to use a R7 today I'd say make the "MRCD CX-5 filter" an intentional feature that's active in K filter AND keep MRCT performance consistent to elevate the R7's general K filtering performance to a higher level in my mind. Another reason we had to dump the Unidens: we weren't seeing consistent K behavior between FW.

The Redline seems to rely on the same hacks as well (makes sense based on internal design), but with less adjustments. I'd actually put that one second just based on ease of use and K notch; I walk my own path and wasn't happy to see more K blocks from Uniden. That's not really the way to go lol, but if it makes some happy.. cool!

All around BSM mitigation ranking: V1G2 > Redline 360C > Pro M (can be sketch w/ even C/O K performance) > R7 (put the "CX-5 filter" feature in K Filter & make it official?)

is 24.170 close enough
Should be. Test it. Turn on K block but don't turn on weak. Then if it's within the range it will completely block the alert but it will tell you that it blocked it. If that works you can set it back to weak.

sorry to be a dumbass but what does weak mean
In the R7 menu settings for K block you can choose weak which will allow strong signals to punch through or you can choose block which won't allow any signal to punch through.

I was about to test this today, but a blizzard outside removed any inclination to leave the house.

I can only assume RL360c quieter by miles compared to R7.

R7 quiet down a bit after switching it to City, and driving it a bit. I went for drive for sake of driving today and I had a handful of false at around 24.160 +- a few MHz. I have 24.168 notch on weak. I just took my daily driver for a quick errand and I didn't feel like swapping the R7. In a 2 mile stretch of road I had the r7 false at least once but probably a couple of times, I didn't get a single false on my Escort Max on Auto no X. I think I will disable K band completely and hopefully remember to turn it on when I head out to more rural areas.

P.S. For those of you from SE MI, Woodward is at 50% Dream Cruise capacity. You should stop by to check out the rides.

I’ve heard there is some K and in parts of GA and TN. Do you ever see K on the interstate highways or just the local and county roads?
I wouldn't shut off K band anywhere in the southeastern US if you're traveling. Sure, there's large areas that use only Ka but there's K band sprinkled all around. So be careful.

Based on all the recommendations I updated my JBV1 settings: keeping K and Ka on, but turned off X... until April when I have a trip to Ohio. So I’ll continue to deal with the Honda Odyssey BSM falses (by far my most prevalent offender)

Thanks everyone!
