Did it again. Two days ago see thread here:

Videos will take all night to edit and upload and it's a work night.
I will add a link tomorrow for those you wish to verify runs against video.

All runs were one direction this time, the course is better suited for testing that way and it's less gas too.
Power to the guns was supplied from a house by extension cord, to my charger, to my ATV battery. (I forgot the 110-12V adaptor at home) Always full consistent charge.

Results of the K Band Testing, Ka will be posted tonight as well!

Opinions:
It seems firmware 135 does indeed hamper K Band reception distances.
While response time on the bench test has it besting firmware 133 handily, it's overall range is down.
I have an observation as to why.
If you look at my chart of the combined alert averages the Python II tests show R7A on Firmware 133 whoopin ass, 94.2% to 85.6%. This is at the higher end of what I recorded on the 16th for variation.
Now, turn off TSF, sorry, a typo line 28 should show K, for K filter on, it jumps up to 93.8% just by disabling TSF.
Turn off both K Filter and TSF and you get the longest reception of the day in line 26, 996 meters.
R7A pulls off consistent high runs with both K filter and TSF ON. Previous test shows turning them off only yields 1-3% max. Big change on filters for Firm 135!

The pattern is somewhat repeated as I run against Falcon HR.
Best runs are by R7B, Firm 135 with no filters.
Runner up no surprise R7A with firmware 133 and filters ON.
BIG SURPRISE (or just a little one) I took my laptop and upgraded the R7A to firmware 135 right on the course without any changes to the Falcon HR setup.
Stunningly, R7A Firm 135 with filters on comes 3rd.
Max 360 with TSR ON comes 4th, as I've seen several Maxes do better TSR ON for some reason.
R7B Firmware 135 comes 4th, and last place to Max 360 with TSR OFF.
Of Note with Falcon HR runs, best to worst is only 3.4% variance!!
I believe the low power HR was limited in it's ability to overcome terrain and all detectors picked up where the road allows signal penetration.
The MPH Python II had more power and stretched my course out longer for a better spread.
If I'd known these results at the time, I would have doubled up on the Python II runs for better data.

When I did try 2 guns pointed opposite at first:
Max 360 perhaps best K band arrow transitions, almost a tie with R7A on firmware 133. R7B on 135 was 50% slower and a bit flaky but not horrible.
Ka Arrows, clear winner was R7A on firmware 133. Almost instantaneous, accurate, bogey alert worked. Max 360 second, was not anywhere as good as it's K band arrow performance, but acceptable. Bogey alert was intermittent or went off as passing guns. R7B Ka arrows were horrid. Almost never switched until losing the rear horn signal with a gun blasting behind you. Frequencies were right, arrows were crap. Lots of jumping around near the guns too.

Ka thoughts:
R7 took Escort to school on Ka today.
Escort did a great job, excellent LEO level protection. R7 was just in a master class of its own today (everyday, LOL)
Firmware 133 vs, 135.
133 came out on top every time. By a 1 or 2 percent average. well within tolerances.
However, R7B usually beat R7A by this same amount when both were on 133.
Just this test today, or did 135 shave just a hair off the Ka performance.
Probably would need a laboratory to definitively find this out, too close to call in the field with all the variables.

So arrows on 1.35 for KA suck? Darn it. I need accurate arrows which is why I love my G2 so much.

This is really frustrating to see. Uniden made the detector unbelievably quiet with 1.35 and then throttled K Band performance in the process, just like every other brand. I really don't think we are getting much better than this with these platforms. Quiet to BSMs or top notch K band performance, take your pick.

Remember that this is only one test motto. Well two tests really.
By turning just TSF off it seems to level up with 133 with TSF on, which was my default.
Now with better BSM filtering, do I turn off TSF?
Has anyone noticed in driving TSF actually making a difference?
If I can maintain range by turning TSF off, and continue to have high level BSM protection of 135, in addition to the quicker K reaction times, 135 might be the superior K choice after all??
Anyone been running F135 for a while with TSF off? How are BSMs?

Thank you for all your time,$$ and effort into testing. I want the best K range from a dash mount RD and my year or so old V1G2 with it's current firmware isn't it. I got a R7 and have been running it all week.

I updated it 135 with TSF and K filter on before using it and so far I'm enjoying it. After reading your results this morning TSF and K filter are off and it seems more sensitive to false alerts. However I haven't had a confirmed K band LEO encounter yet.

I have lots of locals running around with Raptors (the dash mount version of the low power Falcon)and hope to pickup significant range against them with out too many false alerts. I will update with my findings with some more seat time with the R7.
