I scrolled thru it with notepad but usual gibberish. I have the older file saved. Seems like we can downgrade if needed. I just emailed them. Let's see, I also noticed a new redlight db.

So,
I ran the CR97 on 21b for a 2hr trip South and then back. Still see the issue when FDSR is on doing its random thing, and when off does a little better and also running TSR on.

Need @Kennyc56 unit to do a side by side,.with 21a vs 21b. Hard to really tell where it corrected anything, if....been like 8months since it was being used for anything.

I did pickip BSMs up to maybe .75miles from a new VW Golf... 125-150ft on Hondas. Hard to say what else it is picking up.

That will be no problem my friend! I'll just have to dig it out of the closet! I also still have my CR95 as well.

I received an answer from Whistler on Monday:
"It offers better filtering from vehicles with Blind spot detection"...I am going to try it and see. With FDSR on I won't be able to see a difference because it reports everything so I'll run it off to see.

Try with it off and TSR on... No filters.

It seems better, but till I get KennyC56s unit to put side by side, hard to tell how much better.

I wonder if it's better with the K/KA band confusion. That is the thing that bothers me the most. I can even live with Honda BSM falses, but for god sakes display it as a K band false and not a Ka Band false. I just updated today. I will run it and see what it's like.

That's what drives me crazy as well! That K/Ka band confusion is ridiculous to say the least! I'm glad Whistler did something, anything! I was about to think that they were done! I'd love to have a reason to play with my CR95 and 97 again!

Ok, so I drove 3 hours on congested highways in Maryland near Baltimore today running the Whistler CR97 with the 2.1B latest firmware update. The blind spot monitoring filter is still terrible. So it will alert to all CRV and Honda products with KA band 33.8. Whats worse is now with the new firmware is it will latch onto a BSM signal that it will confuse as 33.8 Ka Band and then never drop the signal and it will keep ramping up and down on the bsm Ka Band signal even after the bsm emitting car is no longer nearby. It seems to happen when there is a CRV and another car near it that also has a BSM which usually doesn't set the cr97 off unless there is a Honda near it. For example I was near a chevy blazer with BSM (which normally does not set off the CR 97) and then a CRV was next to it. The cr 97 would alert 33.8 to the crv. After the CRV went off of the highway, the cr97 would still alert to 33.8 ka band due to the blazer being next to me and it would alert full ramp up to Ka 9, until I turned off the RD and turned it back on. Once it was turned back on the blazer's BSM would no longer set off the CR97. I updated the RD properly and did a factory reset after. The RD is unusable again around Honda's. It does seem to filter out other BSMs better than before though. It filtered out all the other BSMs including GM products, but as soon as there is a Honda it goes crazy again with 33.8 ka band. I played with all the settings while following a CRV, including ramping up the K filter and Ka Filter to 5, TFSR On and even turned on FDSr and it still alerts to Honda BSMs. With FDSr on, it will properly change the ka band confusion back to K band, but then it will not filter out any bsms and will do the FDSr random number muted alert the entire time while on the highway to every single BSM emitting car on the road. The RD is essentially unusable unless you live in an area that has no Hondas or Acuras. Very disappointed that after all this time, Whistler still can't filter out Hondas and STILL has band confusion, while charging $250 for the RD on their website. I had to take down the CR 97 and switched it out with my $250 Radenso XP and all my BSM's disappeared and it provided a whisper quiet ride while alerting with plenty of range to a Maryland Trooper running Ka 35.5. After that, I ran my R7 with version 1.35 and it was also whisper quiet. It made me really realize how primative the cr97 really is. I want to like Whistler, I have so many of their RD's but they have really dropped the ball on both their CR93 and CR97 line. I think it has to do with them installing the FDSR feature, as soon as they did that, the band confusion started on all of their detectors that have this feature.

I had a 695 that had some sort of band confusion issue and I got rid of it. This trend looks to have continued forward to this day. There is no excuse for it. I too want to like Whistler but could not deal with BSM's reporting as Ka. Don't have time or patience for that trash. I lost faith in Escort for their sleeping detectors. Knock on wood, my Uniden R1 has been the best detector I've ever owned. No weird bs problems with it.

Finally had a chance to drive with it updated. It seems like there are more k/ka mix ups to me. When I get near a Honda it goes nuts. I am going to downgrade back to the previous. Disappointed.
