So I've got my VIOFO A129 Duo hooked up with the HK3 kit and I have a few questions:

What parking mode do you guys recommend? Also does it record front AND rear in parking mode? Do you recommend low, medium, or high parking mode detection?

I stumbled upon this but mine is powered via the GPS mount and it looks like it switched fine so is this just old instructions?
"Please notice this auto switch between normal recording and parking mode recording only works if the cable is connected to the camera directly, not through the GPS mount."

From what I can tell the REC LED flashes when not recording and solid when it is. When I walked out to my car I noticed it turned solid then went back to flashing. I then tried to jump up and down and wave my hands and trigger a "motion" event via the front and rear camera and it didn't turn back solid again. Maybe I am missing something?

Any help greatly appreciated. I've been going through the settings and just trying to understand and optimize my new toy.

Congrats on the dashcam!

Personally I like Auto Event Detection on the A129's for the buffered impact detection and motion detection. It should record front and rear just like when you're driving.

Does the dashcam specify what low, medium, or high are in reference to?

Auto event detection is a good option, though the low bitrate is also a good option. I think the high, medium and low are motion detection settings right? If so it depends where you tend to park, I would generally go low for motion detection otherwise it may trigger a ton of "events" due to tiny amounts of movement, a good option is to start medium and then adjust up or down from there.... If it's for impact detection using the internal G sensor then medium is probably a good place to start and then adjust from there as well based on how sensitive it is.

Thank you! I am upgrading from Escort M1.

I can't find anywhere where it is referenced. Almost as confusing as Escort's AutoMute tone options.

Any ideas on why the LED didn't go solid when I was trying to trigger motion in parking mode?

I have the same one but I forgot what's my setting but let me look and get back to you. Mean while check this one out but you might have to tweak it to your liking but it will get you in the right direction.

Thanks for that. Seems like the issue is at night. It doesn’t pickup motion events as easily unless there is a light source involved.

I’ve noticed a few quirks too. Parking files don’t show under the correct tab in the app. The app does have horrible reviews.

I also noticed some videos play super fast and I don’t have time lapse on.
